Category:Municipal seats of Denmark

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The municipalities of Denmark normally consist of both rural and urban areas. One of the localities (byer) acts as the "capital" of the municipality. Most of the administration is placed in the seat (in Swedish called Kommunesæde). The seat or any other locality within a municipality is never a political or administrative entity of its own, but an integral part of the municipality.

In most cases the seat has the same name as the municipality, but there are exceptions.
