The Gihara are a tribalcaste found in various states of India. They are considered to be among the migrating[1] or partly settled communities They are now included among the notified tribes in Uttar Pradesh.[2]
History and origin
The Gihara are immigrants from Rajasthan. Gihari speak mostly Gihara, Hindi and English.
Occupation And Demographics
The Gihara are strictly endogamous and are divided into four main exogamous clans. These are the Sodha, Sankat, Maish, Otwar, Goher, Sore and Marriayyan, Bhotiyarakhn
Many Gihara are still involved in their traditional occupation of cloths. Some in ancient age were involved in rope making, chick making, bamboo fencing.Many people still engaged in their traditional occupations such as kuchbandiya and sirkibandiya. Many peoples engaged themselves in cottage industries (small industries occupations).

This kalash yatra is organised by the community every year in New Delhi.

The community strictly believes in the worship Of Mata Maharani They worship the goddess Durga, the goddess Balasundri, and the goddess Jwala ji
