Welcome to Wikiversity's research portal. In addition to Wikiversity's learning mission in the pre-school, primary, secondary, tertiary and non-formal educational sectors, the Wikimedia Foundation's approved project proposal for Wikiversity includes an approval to host research. The research portal is Wikiversity's main entry point to all known research being hosted here, as well as all documents and supporting materials relating to research, such as proposals and other administrative materials. If you wish to conduct research using Wikiversity, you should start by reading the various guidelines, bearing in mind their provisional status, and look at some existing projects. Research projects at Wikiversity are fundamentally collaborative and open to all. Discuss research projects, reports, methodologies, methods, theories, etc. in the research discussion forum.

Learning to learn a wiki way - Using wikis as tools for learning is a new and evolving social practice. If Wikiversity is to succeed, we need to learn how to make the best use of wikis for learning. This project aims to be an exemplar of how a wiki can be used for learning and to refine, develop and expand on the social practice of using wikis for learning.

Research quotes

"It seems to me what is called for is an exquisite balance between two conflicting needs: the most skeptical scrutiny of all hypotheses that are served up to us and at the same time a great openness to new ideas … If you are only skeptical, then no new ideas make it through to you … On the other hand, if you are open to the point of gullibility and have not an ounce of skeptical sense in you, then you cannot distinguish the useful ideas from the worthless ones." - Carl Sagan
