Van Rooyen

Van Rooyen or Van Rooijen (Dutch pronunciation: [vɑn ˈroːi.ə(n)]) is an Afrikaans and Dutch toponymic surname. "Rooij" or "Roij" was a local term for many towns ending with "rode" or "roij", like Nistelrode, Sint-Oedenrode, Stramproy and Wanroij.
