I find it very ironic that I am talking on my discussion page before actually creating a User page.

However, it could not be avoided, as for some reason I seem to be unable to create my own user page, since for reasons as yet unknown to me, The words "Wikipedia does not have a user page with this name yet" keep appearing. It is very annoying, and I would like to know how to stop this.

However, it is very unlikely that anyone will respond to this here, since there is no way to reach this discussion page without going to the actual page, which is very hard to do since I have not created it yet. I will have to write this somewhere else. Please ignore all I have written above, since the mere fact that you are reading it proves that I have a user page, and the problem is therefore solved.

AfD nomination of Leslie (Star Trek)

[edit]

An editor has nominated Leslie (Star Trek), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leslie (Star Trek) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Leslie (Star Trek)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Leslie (Star Trek), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Leslie (Star Trek). Land Before Time Wiki (Reply)

[edit]

Yes and no.
I would say yes all the way but there are 2 reasons why I don't:

  1. I've never been an admin before on ANY Wiki
  2. I don't visit the Land Before Time Wiki all that often (but not many people do anyway)

Yet, I would enjoy that at the same time.
So, maybe I will be an admin. I'll try my best to do a good job. But, you can on my talk page tell me what to do please. Becuase as I said, I've never been an admin before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4myself4 (talkcontribs) 01:47, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You had me laughing there. Just wondering, how do you become an admin. If you can just tell me what to do and I'll try to become an admin the best (and as you said (kind of) expimental) I am capable. Thanks. 4M4|Go here 03:24, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note. I've sent a message to the WP Oversight group who look after any pages with too much personal info. If you find any more user pages like that, the best place to go is straight to Wikipedia:Requests_for_oversight - the overseers can permanently delete page info from the WP files, something which I can't do (as far as I know). Replaceable fair use Image:Farsightedness.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Farsightedness.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? SchuminWeb (Talk) 07:12, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, thanks and I wish you luck. IQ tests are fascinating, and I find all criticism of them a bit silly, at least as long as one keeps in mind that "intelligence" is not well defined and is, what you see in these tests. If you got a high score, you are good in the things they teach you in the tests, no more, no less. It is as with "Japanese in 30 days". In the end you don·t know Japanese, but the very few, but basic things in the book. --Radh (talk) 14:47, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Worldtravelforum1.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Worldtravelforum2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 04:04, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Request for opinion

[edit]

Hi Aabicus: Sorry to trouble you, but I could not help but notice your expression of affection for TOS on the Wikipedians who like Star Trek: The Original Series page, and so I would be curious of your thoughts on the notability of a Star Trek author for whom I just created a Wikipedia article -- which may be promptly destined for the trash pile. As a newcomer here at Wikipedia, my first article attempt was indeed recommended for deletion within hours of its creation by a senior user named JzG who seems to me to be overly hostile and dismissive of Star Trek, calling it fancruft (= trivial, obscure, of importance to just a tiny group of fanatics) . Since you are a Trek fan, if it is also your good faith opinion that my subject is in no way deserving of an article on this site; and you could let me know, I would feel much more comfortable with the justice of the pending deletion action. My proposed article may be seen here, assuming you visit the page soon enough ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Gurian Kind Regards. Tosresearcher (talk) 04:53, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
