[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Eviolite was: This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Wikipedia is not a how-to guide, and this is entirely original research.

Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Justiyaya 02:25, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Helping at the Teahouse

[edit]

Hey, TigerTurtle! Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you're finding your way around well; I just wanted to reach out with a quick note. I noticed you tried to help out at the Teahouse earlier. While I love the enthusiasm, you may want to hold off for a bit there while you find your footing. Once you've been around for a bit longer, you can become a host, but until then, I recommend just figuring things out here for yourself first. (Start off with the links in the message above!) Feel free to ask me on my talk page if you ever need anything. Happy editing! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bsoyka (talkcontribs) 02:59, March 29, 2022 (UTC)

MfD nomination of Draft:How to make globbles

[edit]

Draft:How to make globbles, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:How to make globbles and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:How to make globbles during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Xingqiu Talk 03:40, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The decliners reason was "Original research". Articles cannot be based on what you know, or deduce, or invent. All facts must be verified with references to published works. David notMD (talk) 09:06, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know

Yeah, completely agree with what @IMiss2010 said, writing new articles is really challenging and discouraging for beginners, perhaps starting with another task would be much easier. Good luck and happy editing! :D Justiyaya 16:47, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also cute cat :) Justiyaya 16:52, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Most new editors find success easier from improving existing articles rather than trying to create articles. David notMD (talk) 02:01, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Teahouse

[edit]

Please hold off from replying to queries at Teahouse until you have gained a lot more experience. While being an official Teahouse Host is not a requirement, people who aspire to help out usually have months of experience - hundreds of article edits - before feeling knowledgeable to profer advice. David notMD (talk) 02:21, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry David notMD 😢 I will stop being so rude to you know, and yes I’m a newcomer and I’m not really experienced. I will start by editing and reading some articles, sorry again!
I hope you understand that I sometimes get bullied IRL..
Thanks, have a good day 😊
PS how do I stop my acc from getting banned (or is that a tea house question?)
Thanks again 😊,

Sorry Hoary 😢😢😢

Not here to improve the encyclopedia?

[edit]

Unless you change, your history of edits is heading toward you being warned, short-term blocked and then indefintely blocked. New editor questions are allowed at Teahouse, but if that is all you are doing, without any attempts to improve existing articles, then WP:NOTHERE or WP:CIR may be seen as applying. I suggest you visit those links. To date, you have one failed attempt at an article and 14 Teahouse posts. David notMD (talk) 21:44, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Im pretty sure your not my boss… so I think im allowed to do anything I want on Wikipedia cause this is a website for everyone to do everything (maybe keep that in mind) thanks - TigerTurtle (talk) 21:47, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Plus I’m very experienced in helping people - I’m not a 5 year old
thanks - TigerTurtle (talk) 21:48, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is an encyclopedia. And also, your account was created this month. You aren't very experienced at all. And to top THAT off, you're breaking the civility policy. Maybe make some mainspace edits?
And he's not bossing you. This is a policy. You risk being blocked. Cool guy (talkcontribs) • he/they 22:48, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry 😢 I just don’t want to be bullied because I do get bullied IRL sometimes TigerTurtle (talk) 22:53, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Very sorry 😢 TigerTurtle (talk) 22:58, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My intention is not to bully you. My intention is to advise you that you have not yet shown that you are here to improve the encyclopedia. I did not make a first level warning, which would be next formal step. Standard advice for new editors is to work on improving existing articles. If you do that with in good faith edits, even if some are reverted (reversed) you will be seen as being here for the common good. David notMD (talk) 01:35, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh sorry I didn’t call you a bully! Please understand that!
But sorry about before (today) I meant I sometimes get bullied (by other people, not on Wikipedia) in real life.
Thank you 😊 TigerTurtle (talk) 01:37, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@TigerTurtle I hope that you don't feel I'm trying to be mean to you, but I want to comment on your comment that sometime you "get bullied in real life." It might help if you remember that Wikipedia is real life, even though it's on the Internet. All of the volunteers that edit articles or answer questions on the Teahouse are real people. The vast majority of Wikipedia folks are nice people trying to help out by improving articles, and by using our spare time writing what we hope is good advice to other editors.

I consider being a Wikipedia volunteer to be an important part of my real life. Other parts of my life include working for wages at a couple of jobs, and going to a few stores to buy items. Most days I spend time looking for good reliable information to use when improving Wikipedia articles. I am proud of the volunteer work I do here, and sometimes I mention what I do here when I attend a monthly get-together with friends. I don't consider Wikipedia a place to go when I want to escape the "real world" but a place where I can help provide information to those who want to learn something.

Best wishes on your future Wikipedia projects. (By the way, sometimes I feel that people have bullied me, by trying to pressure me into doing something I don't want to do, but I remind myself that bullies aren't very nice people, so I try to be nice to others, which makes me more important than some old meanie bully.) A suggestion - stop adding emoticons to your Teahouse queries. If you look at the other postings, other editors don't. David notMD (talk) 08:23, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
