Improving UserPage

[edit]

I don't know what happened with your userpage, but I see a lot of disorganization, and a nagging template at the bottom that doesn't display anything. Can I change that a little?

O—— The Unknown Hitchhiker 02:17, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As of

[edit]

I noticed in the Enya article you changed a wikilink to read As of 2004. But all that does is go to the main 2004 page. I'm curious what the purpose of distinguishing "As of 2004" is? Is it possible there was some sort of article at that location that now no longer exists? Cheers. 23skidoo 19:54, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Well done in creating this template. I will try and make it a bit more well-known. Alphax τεχ 10:01, Mar 15, 2005 (UTC)

Smallpox and Amherst

[edit]
This issue has been discussed at length on a number of pages ----See: Talk:Population history of American indigenous peoples and the accompanying article. If we get around to writing an article about this very small event, the facts support the following: people thought about it, one lower level officer tried it, but the Amherst letter was after the fact. There is no evidence that any epidemic came from the incident. I'm removing the dispute notice. WBardwin 00:45, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

"It's-ok!" The story is in a lot of history books - but Kevin Myers, one of our Native American experts did some good research. Look over the article above. We are considering doing a separate article because people do seem to remember this one. Comments welcome. WBardwin 02:03, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)

New Village Pump box

[edit]

Hi. I just recreated the old Village Pump box at Template:Villagepumppagesbox as the one you're using on your user page has been adapted to a point where it looks bad outside the Village Pump. Please feel free to modify your user page accordingly. Enjoy! — Stevie is the man! Talk | Work 16:24, Jun 14, 2005 (UTC)

Just thought I'd let you know that the above template and category you created are up for deletion at WP:SFD. --TheParanoidOne 12:09, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Template_talk:MergeVfD

[edit]

Hi!

re: Template_talk:MergeVfD

I just double subst'd and created a 'theoretical' target page for this template, and altered your example so it was no longer appearing on the merge backlog list (where it was the oldest item! <g>). In any event, I stripped the Category out so that unhappy circumstance no longer applies. Can you look it over and see if it's changed, or all is still well? I'm not really up to speed on templates, and I'd prefer to be checked. Thanks // FrankB 14:47, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About my edits to {{tlx}}

[edit]

Certainly restricts the template's usage, doesn't it? Your reversion was perfectly fine, and thanks for notifying me of it. For some reason, I decided to apply lcfirst to {{tlx}}, rather than than doing {{tlx|{{lcfirst:templatename}}}} on {{templatesnotice}}. Bad programming... sorry for any inconvenience it caused. [edit]

Hello Sgeo! I noticed your request to have your userpage renovated, and I will be happy to help. I am handy with Wiki-markup, and know my way around the Userboxing world. If you agree, I will create a sandbox page and make changes to your userpage there, as not to disrupt your real userpage. I will take the changes you want me to make one at a time, with your comments on how I am doing. I can offer advice, and, when you are completely satisfied with my work, I will turn the sandbox into your true userpage. No change of your signature required! No redirects! Tell me on my talk page if you accept, and also tell me what you want changed. Thank you! --FastLizard4 (Talk|Contribs) 04:58, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:Holidaye

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Holidaye requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{tranclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 21:20, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bot activity

[edit]

I was going over the list of bots and noticed that Sgeo-BOT (talk · contribs) has not edited in a very long time. Is this bot still active and if not, would you object to it being de-flagged? Please post your comments to Wikipedia_talk:Bots/Requests_for_approval#Dead_bots since this is a rather widely-posted message. MBisanz talk 01:51, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My edit of you private page

[edit]

I took the liberty of editing your private page, Sgeo/vol, because the syntax for the templates {{shortcut}} and {{essay}} are in the process of being updated. Your implementation, which worked previously, broke the new syntax. You can find more information at CAT:SHORTFIX. Best wishes. --DRoll (talk) 23:34, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template nominated for deletion

[edit]

The template Template:User subst-sig you have created has been nominated for speedy deletion; I don't see how it meets the criteria, so I have moved it to User:Sgeo/subst-sig. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 17:21, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template loop

[edit]

Please have a look here. It took some very hard work to empty this category. So I hope your example will not stay for too long. You can blank it, or delete this page by putting {{Db-g2}} on top. Debresser (talk) 19:52, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I neutralised it by placing "tlu" in front of it. Debresser (talk) 11:17, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:WorldsPlayer-Host.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:WorldsPlayer-Host.PNG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:08, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

<3 --MZMcBride (talk) 13:56, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 12:49, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

iSketch

[edit]

Hi, just to let you know that I have proposed iSketch for speedy deletion. I'm notifying you as you are the original creator. --24.68.78.126 (talk) 23:45, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And I've declined it as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ISketch closed as "keep", and no valid CSD criteria was specified. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 00:19, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article ISketch has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article cites no notable sources, and I can't find any new sources. There was a previous debate in 2006, but all of those sources cited as reasons to keep the article don't seem to exist any more.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. HotSection (talk) 00:51, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of ISketch for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article ISketch is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ISketch (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
