Amphoe and Thesaban

[edit]

Hello, thanks for edits on the Thai articles. It seems you did fall into the same misunderstanding I myself fell before - the cities like e.g. Rayong are not identical with the Mueang district. The municipal (thesaban) areas (and this includes Pattaya which is a municipality outside the thesaban system) take over some of the tasks normally assigned to the district or province administration (most notably the sanitation), but they are still part of the district for the other tasks (e.g. civil registry). And while these municipalies are local administrative units, the districts as well as the tambon are directly controlled by the central government. andy 11:30, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:OER-3000-SSE10.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:OER-3000-SSE10.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:08, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Balabalagan Islands

[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Balabalagan Islands, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. AfD nomination of Balabalagan Islands

[edit]

Balabalagan Islands, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Balabalagan Islands satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Balabalagan Islands and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Balabalagan Islands during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. License tagging for Image:Lambang propinsi sulsel.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lambang propinsi sulsel.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:09, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Coco Snatch

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Coco Snatch requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. UtherSRG (talk) 20:00, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Carotenoid template

[edit]

Hi, I recently saw you split off retinoids, carotenes, and xanthophylls into their own templates. I can't see any reason why we shouldn't have all the carotenoids in the same template, which actually helps navigation if the template is set up correctly. I've modified {{Carotenoids}} to reflect the members in each set, and that's the template I think we ought to use. I'm going to nominate Template:Carotenes, Template:Retinoids, and Template:Xanthophylls for deletion, as Template:Carotenoids is a better format for this information. Notability of Hatari Electronics

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Hatari Electronics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Hatari Electronics, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Buddhism

[edit]

I reverted your edits on Buddhism tonight. I understand the point that you are trying to make, but there were a couple problems with the edit. One is that the definition of Buddhism in the intro is a controversial topic, and changes should really be discussed first on the talk page. The issue of Buddhism as philosophy vs. religion vs. multiple religions, etc., is not uniformly settled in published sources, and Wikipedia has to reflect that ambiguity, even if it produces a somewhat weak sounding intro. Second, the term 'idolatry' regarding religious practices is generally to be avoided as a NPOV issue. Some would argue that the veneration of images present in Buddhism and Hinduism is not idolatry as typically understood because it is the being that the image represents, rather than the image itself, that is worshiped; others would say that the issue of idolatry is inherently a POV that only makes sense in the context of the Abrahamic religions which prohibit it. Finally, your assertion regarding Buddhism's spread into the West is incorrect. Many temples exist in the West that practice Buddhism more or less just as it is practiced within Asian countries, and even more Westernized practice and study centers often include ritual elements such as bowing, chanting, making offerings to images of the Buddha, etc. The Talk:Buddhism page may have more details on these issues, or feel free to contact me on my talk page if you have questions. --Clay Collier (talk) 12:57, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moving the paragraph that you're adding out of the intro is a step in the right direction, but it still has some serious NPOV issues with regards to the characterization of Asian and Western Buddhism. If you want to create a section on differences in practice between Western and traditional Buddhism and add some sourced information to it, or add it to the Criticism of Buddhism article, that would be fine. Otherwise, I think that you are going to find that it is going to be repeatedly reverted. --Clay Collier (talk) 13:13, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your point but saying that Western Buddhism is "not a complete religion", that Asian Buddhism contains idolatry, blind devotion and superstition are clearly in contravention of the NPOV policy. Saying that Westerners are confused by these things, that they lack cultural understanding, and that they are "sidestepping" the issue is also a violation of NPOV. Furthermore, you're making broad assertions about what Buddhism in Asia and the West are like in general without any source to back up that opinion. --Clay Collier (talk) 13:20, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the thing: if sources exist to support it, it would be fine to say that Asian Buddhism is generally marked by an interest in protective charms, amulets, fortune telling, and the supernatural not generally encountered in Western Buddhism. If a source can be found for it, it would be fine to say that the significant differences in how Buddhism is presented to Westerners and how it is practiced in Asia makes it difficult for Westerner's to understand certain aspects of popular Buddhism in Asia. With sources, any of these sorts of statements would be fine. What isn't OK is saying that Asian Buddhists are blindly devout idolaters that worship money, and that Westerners are too culturally illiterate to understand what's going on. It might be true, and by and large I think it is, but that isn't how an encyclopedia would present it, and Wikipedia can't present the situation that way either. We need sources, and we need to state the situation in neutral language. --Clay Collier (talk) 13:29, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This has nothing to do with my understanding of history. As I mentioned, I'm sympathetic to the point you're trying to make. What you need to understand is that the specific way in which you are making your point does not comply with Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Verifiability. --Clay Collier (talk) 13:37, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
part of verifiability is the pre-existing wikipedia articles. But my original point which was reversed was "Buddhism is a family of beliefs and practices considered by many to be a religion" are weasel words when clearly it is a "religion" or even family of religions and should be stated as such. I have a problem with the statement "considered by many to be a religion". It is a religion, and those who don't know shouldn't be writing about it. File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:ID_Kai.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Re item at my talk page

[edit]

For a start thank you very much for responding - it is appreciated.

Your point is as valid as merbabus above - the problem is that the WP Indonesia project has a terrible legacy of english free editors dropping odd bits in and never returning to clean up there mess. Do you have the slightest clue where you are getting your information from? cannot you use it for ref purposes? SatuSuro 12:37, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

However, one of the points is that vast swaths of islands in Indonesia are completely missing from Wikipedia. You may think that is ok, but I don't

I am not personally really focused upon whether the 'ultimate list' of islands ultimately gets up on Wikipedia or not - there are WP:NOT issues in your assumption there - the point is as a traditional encyclopedia does not necessarily have every location in it - there are usually gazetteers as appendices to good encyclopedias for that sort of thing - I do not think that WP Indonesia has as an aim or end in a comprehensive listing of every nameable island of Indonesia - if you wish to do so maybe you need to find a good source while you are doing that and please dont expect any support if the afd hawks start watching you :) SatuSuro 05:16, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re- your response at Merbabu's talk page

[edit]

Ok you have been on for a few years now. Every time you edit an article at the bottom of the edit pane appears:- Encyclopedic content must be verifiable That means every time you create another Island article - yes it means you need something to verify that every article you have created is not a hoax.

Your response to Merbabu misses the point - all items with entries in Wikipedia should ideally have WP:RS for WP:V purposes - Islands are not existential stand alones - they do require proof.

If you are creating a new article - you need to offer up WP:RS each time - you are an experienced editor - you edit over a whole range of articles that show a particularly wide range of knowledge - surely that would follow that if you are capably of such editing - you can also identify the source of information about the obscure islands that you add to the WP Indonesia project. It is simple as that. And it would be appreciated if you could do so - and thanks for what you have added already and please keep doing so - but please a source or two. The article Thai zig zag scam has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-encyclopedic subject

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. mhking (talk) 03:32, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Locator_Serang_Regency.png

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Locator_Serang_Regency.png.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:09, 20 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 11:09, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Celebrity Fitness requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 21:32, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Celebrity Fitness, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 21:39, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is like none of the advice from the other year has any relevance

[edit]

It is very hard to consider the issues involved with WP:AGF and civility when finding these recent additions:-

  1. Cempi Bay (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) by Doseiai2 (talk · contribs) started at 16:30, 11 April 2010
  2. Bima Bay (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) by Doseiai2 (talk · contribs) started at 16:17, 11 April 2010
  3. Sanggar Bay (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) by Doseiai2 (talk · contribs) started at 16:14, 11 April 2010
  4. Waworada Bay (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) by Doseiai2 (talk · contribs) started at 16:05, 11 April 2010 - that one is a real classic!!!
  5. Saleh Bay (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) by Doseiai2 (talk · contribs) started at 15:51, 11 April 2010

The cleanup involved to fix these contributions will take longer than you did to make them - the separate stubs for the bays are not necessarily inherently notable, (all contributions need WP:RS - it is there in the box in your edit page), need project tagging, need re-categorising. Please note that your apparent forgetting advice up this talk page shows that, despite the fact that you may be a very good contributor, you seem to have forgotten the main issues of what and how new stubs need to survive deletion :) SatuSuro 01:07, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bintuni_Bay is one tagged by another editor - I fail to see why it should not be deleted - please either comment - or do something about it - dumping one liner stubs with geography of indonesia category could be seen in your case as disruptive editing - expect an admin to broach the subject if you continue to add stubs that way - or if you are really genuine abut the notability of these less than 20 word stubs - find a WP:RS or something like that to show that you actually care about creating such stubs SatuSuro 08:09, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Mainstream gay

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Mainstream gay. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mainstream gay. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. As you seem to be the original creator of this file, I would like to know which color is intended for countries such as Portugal, Italy and India. After all, said countries are painted in a color which is not represented in the summary. Should they be painted dark red like France and Spain or is the light brown tone intended? In the second case, there is an item missing in the summary... Sabbut (talk) 19:24, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Locator Jabotabek Banten.PNG needs authorship information.

[edit]
Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Locator Jabotabek Banten.PNG appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Renamed user 9d6c46bf028596824e6760c5c03e339e}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:52, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Particles in alveolus.png.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:51, 30 October 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Nepal

You wrote at 10:46, 8 December 2012 on my talk page "Of course, you've never been into the real Nepal, the mountains, have you, or you would know this already..."

How presumptuous are you! Check the guest registers of hotels in Thamel, Kathmandu for the last seventeen years to know how many times I have been to Nepal. (I, of course, don't need a visa or passport, thanks to the 1950 Indo-Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship.) Anyway, I need not climb Mount Everest to learn its height, go to San Francisco Bay to confirm the existence of Golden Gate Bridge or visit the White House to confirm that Mr. Barack Obama has been elected the President for the second term. Hello. I was NPP'ing and noticed you created this article. An inclusion concern came to mind, but I don't want to drag you into one of the public fora like a noticeboard or something.

My concern is twofold, (1) does this article give undue weight to the transgender status of these people, and (2) is this categorization meaningful per Wikipedia:Categorization/Ethnicity, gender, religion and sexuality. You may be basing this article off of the inclusion of a different, valid categorization like Category:Transgender_and_transsexual_writers, but these exist only because the people listed therein write actively about transgender/transsex issues. However, while being transgender is very likely to be relevant to what a writer writes about, it is not at all relevant to how old a person can be (just as ethnicity, religion, etc. are not, hence why we don't have List of the verified oldest known Jews, List of the verified oldest known Muslims, List of the verified oldest known Wikipedia editors, and so on. Intelligentsium 01:00, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. Right now, list of oldest male/female exist because there is a clear correlation extensively supported by medical research between sex and longevity, and because this is the simplest and most universal biological binary for humans (thus all other variables are in effect controlled variables so the correlation is not because of something else). I am not saying it is not possible to be or identify outside this binary; what I am saying is that the correlation between intersex/transgender status and (extreme) longevity has not been studied or discussed in published literature, so we can't write about it. It might be in the future that a groundbreaking study is published on a statistically significant sample of transgender/intersex individuals showing such individuals tend to live much longer/shorter lives than their male/female peers and that this is a correlation independent of upbringing or environment. In that case, there would be no problem with having an article. Right now, however, it doesn't seem that is the case, just as it is not with Muslims or Hindus, or left-handed persons or persons favouring Brie cheese over Camembert cheese, for that matter, hence it is not appropriate to include any of these topics as an article. Intelligentsium 02:28, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of the verified oldest known transgender has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This isn't a list, but a mention of just one person and no evidence that she even fits the article. The IC says she is OLDEST IN CHINA.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ...William 01:01, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of through trains in Japan has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. satusuro 14:33, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Quote boxes

[edit]

Hello. Could you please elaborate on why you keep adding quote boxes to articles as an IP editor? [1][2] Most of the times there is no indication of actual relevance. I'd rather see more scholarly content added to Wikipedia articles. Quotes such as those you recently added may fit to news website articles, but not to an encyclopedic website. Also, I would advise you to read WP:SOCK, WP:V, WP:NOR, WP:RS and WP:DRIVEBYTAGGING. —Omnipaedista (talk) 07:03, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Objection to move of "Japanese Creation Myth"

[edit]

Please send me a link to the move discussion, or revert the move, which is not supported by WP:RS.--Ubikwit 連絡 見学/迷惑 14:04, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted it myself. Doseiai2, please make a requested move if you want to move this article; I am not convinced that "story" is better than myth, and I doubt others will be. —Xezbeth (talk) 14:15, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you.
That was an absolutely baseless and arbitrary "move" based on personal religious bias/beliefs, and essential represents some form of POV pushing bordering on activism.
There is no correspondence between controversy with the name of the Genesis creation narrative and Japanese mythology. I suggest that Doseiai2 abstain from further "move" adventurism until such a time when you have acquired a degree of competence in Japanese religion and language.
Attempting such a surreptitious move without initiating a discussion could be seen as disruptive.

Marapu creation story

[edit]

This is not, according to the article and Marapu, a story about the creation of the world. It also had no more information than the main article, so I've turned it into a redirect to the main article. I note that it actually had no source either. I did copy some material from it into the main article, but that was about the religion, not about the story, so was in the wrong place in any case. Dougweller (talk) 15:27, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Very good page idea, and a suggestion

[edit]

Hi. I saw your page 'List of places named after peace', a very good idea, thank you. On the anti-war and peace template I've changed it to 'List of places named Peace', which might be a good name for the page. I'm remembering Peacefield, John Adams and John Quincy Adams' home, as I type this, don't know if you've included it or not. Just wanted to both suggest the name tweak to see if you like it and to thank you for a nice page. Happy New Year to you, yours, and theirs. Randy Kryn 10:34 4 January, 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Vaginal microbiota

[edit]

Hello Doseiai2. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Vaginal microbiota, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Yes, it should be "microbiota" but "flora" is used by long-standing convention. "Flora" in this context is used not as a synonym of Plantae sensu stricto, but to mean "living organisms that are not Animalia. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 10:24, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Doseiai2. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Induced thymic epithelial cells, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

Proposed deletion of 2-AA

[edit]

The article 2-AA has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Disambiguation pages are meant to distinguish among existing article titles, not prospective titles of to-be-composed articles. Suggest deletion without prejudice for re-creation when conditions warrant it's presence.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Your contributed article, Arctic Low

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Arctic Low. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Polar low. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Polar low – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. David.moreno72 08:08, 21 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Template Cruciferous Biochemistry

[edit]

Hi, I'm not a template builder, but try to create new content on fossils, plants and animals. Recently, I've been working on Brassicaceae. The fact that there is a template Cruciferous biochemistry seems functional to me. However, it contain a red link to Raphanus, while the page Raphanus does exist. This is because Raphanus in the template is an evoked template which does not exist. This is rather confusing. Looking a little bit better, it turns out that Brassicaceae and Brassica also are evoked templates, which exist this time, although being identical, which they should not be. It seems to me non of these sub templates belong in a template about biochemistry. For a template on Brassicaceae, I think a listing of genera per subfamily and tribe would be a necessary component, and I'm sure phylogenetic knowledge is not yet advanced enough for this family. Perhaps these thoughts may persuade you to do some work on this template. Thank you in advance, regards, Dwergenpaartje (talk) 08:38, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Doseiai2. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Chiran-o, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

Multiscriptualism moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Multiscriptualism, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. New articles generally need at least two (but preferably more) references from reliable sources that are independent of the subject that discuss the subject with significant coverage (trivial mentions do not contribute to notability). Further more the article currently appears to consist of nothing more than a dictionary definition without demonstrating the notability of the subject, i.e. as a field of study. (See Rule 42) Information that can't be referenced to reliable sources should be removed from the draft because verifiability is necessary for information added to Wikipedia.
I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of Draft: before the article title) where you can work on the article with minimal disruption from other users while you improve it.
When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready to be published, you can move it back to the article space yourself. However, I recommend that instead of moving it yourself that you follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template that I have added to the page. This submits the article to be reviewed by experienced editors that specialize in helping new editors write their first articles. Edaham (talk) 08:23, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:EW and WP:BRD - the first is policy, and the second is widely respected and adhered to. When you make changes to an article and they are contested and reverted, you need to start a discussion to seek consensus, and not edit war to reinstate them. The onus is on you to demonstrate that you have community consensus, which you need to do on the article talk page. List of solar maxima and minima

Greetings,

I've done some changes on List of solar maxima and minima. I've taken out the pre-historic events list because to my knowledge nobody has associated these events to solar variation. On the second section, I think it might be a good idea to add sources to each event. Also, a question that came to me, but Iron Age Cold Epoch does not look like a solar minimum to me ... maybe the Homeric Minimum is the corresponding SM? An article you recently created, Chagara, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Factor Inhibiting HIF Asparaginyl Hydroxylase Inhibitors. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. File source problem with File:AmphoePattaya 2004.PNG

Thank you for uploading File:AmphoePattaya 2004.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Deletion discussion about Rainbow-collar worker

Hello Doseiai2, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Rainbow-collar worker, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rainbow-collar worker.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Chaotic Enby}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
