It wasn't me! :(

[edit]

I need your help clearing my name! My IP is shared by my school's computers/internet as well, and some kids (I think one of them, Paul Cleverly, is in my grade) went on wikipedia and vandalized a page, I think it was Renaissance. He trolled it by adding remarks and all sorts of things about his friends and whatever, and when I went on the page (The renaissance is our current project in Music and Language Arts so we were reading the page) and so I get on the page and I see "New Messages", and I click, and there are WARNINGS! I was confused! I couldn't even edit pages on my Log-in account to fix spelling errors and whatnot.

I just want to let you know as one of the moderators who had cleared the vandalism caused by those jerks that I would never do something like that and I hope you understand that this IP is shared unfortunately, so please don't ban it!

Thank you so, so much for understanding! --24.128.43.180 00:53, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm new

[edit]

Hi! I'm new. Umm... Is it just me or does this look like a chat page for teens?? My username is Cmputer.I haven't made a user page yet, though.

It's normal to add new entries to the top of talk pages, and as for a chat page for teens, doesn't seem much chat to me and unfortunatley I left my teens many years ago. Also you should sign your messages with ~~~~ which will fill in your signature and a timestamp. Thanks --pgk(talk) 12:44, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

TMNT

[edit]

It is not vandalism, I just moved TMNT 1987 Episode 6: Splinter No More to TMNT 1987 Episode 15: Splinter No More, where it belongs. Splinter no more is episode number 15. Maybe it should be a redirect, but I don't think so.

Re your message

[edit]

Thanks for welcome message. I am not a vandal. I have been around awhile and am trying to learn the ropes. I was using cryto-derks vandal fighter and saw that someone had erased the do not erase text in the top of the sandbox and replaced it with "super cool" (I think that was the text). If I left the warning in the wrong place I am sorry. I have reverted quite a bit of vandalism but never of the sandbox before. I have a user account but I keep getting logged out which causes only my ip to show. Can be frustrating.-71.28.243.246 16:43, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thank you for reverting edits to Bolton Wanderers F.C., My userpage was also Vandalised. Can ask for some assistance in combating the constant vandalising my userpage gets? Again, thank you for your assistance with Bolton Wanderers F.C. - Bwfc 20:46, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think the anonymous editor you just reverted was on to something. These two rulers are one and the same person, and the two articles seem to be identical. One should be a redirect to the other. I would choose Pedro I of Brazil as the main article and Pedro IV of Portugal as a redir, but I'll leave the decision to your best judgment. Owen× 17:23, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I noticed that when following up on the user, Edit Summaries, great aren't they. Personally I've no view, the article seems to suggest that it was a short period as IV of Portugal, so I guess it's a Political disctinction which away around it should be. Something I don't want to be in the middle of! I'll ignore it for now and tidy up later --pgk(talk) 17:27, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Iraq article

[edit]

My editing of the Iaq article is not vandalism! I enhanced the acuracy of some facts regarding the recvent occupation of Iraq, by labbeling that information as "vandalism" damages the integrety of the term "vanadalism" and is giving wikipedia a non-neutral stance. I take great offence at your calling of the material "nonsense", you are certainly the vandal in this instance! GeorgeBuchanan

Since this goes back a few weeks I had to look for it, and found it here The internationally recognised president of Iraq is not Saddam Hussein, regardless of if that has been done fairly or otherwise. Similarly elections were held and the transitional government selected, if that is "imposed" would be a matter of point of view, please see WP:NPOV so was inappropriate content, though I would agree not necessarily nonsense. --pgk(talk) 20:42, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I forgot to add my four tildes. But as I said before, he's been already warned lots of times already, and it's blatanly obvious the's out to attack that article. I would put a {{test4}} template on, but I'd leave that to a sysop with page protection. --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 07:16, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
That was quick. I hope he doesn't switch IPs and go at it again. After all it's been like that in rapid succession for a while now, with 3 different IPs. --LBMixPro(Speak on it!) 07:23, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Crystalcherry has been recreated, I believe it lacks notability as per the previous AfD. I got involved in this when User:Cherryrain went "Opps", twice on Avril Lavigne and then requested my assistance after I reverted. I suspect this user has been biten/slighted by the AfD, and is not acting entirely in good faith. Cherryrain mentioned User:Drini's agreement for a rewrite; I'm not optimistic that will be sufficient to satisfy all users involved in this issue. Sea of Japan naming dispute

[edit]

I write this because I saw User:Cleric71 asked for your help on this page. Just in case you decide to get involved, here is what happened so far:

User:Cleric71 showed up and moved the pages Sea of Japan and Sea of Japan naming dispute (repeatedly after reverts) in favor of the Korean minority position (details in the second article). While of course the Korean minority position is respected here on Wikipedia, it remains a minority position until the United Nations will act on their behalf. Well, the moves were reverted and the user was banned. The ban was lifted again to give him another chance, as the ban was too hard on a newbie. Now he tries to win support for his cause on the talk page, but so far everybody is against him. -- Mkill 00:10, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Du Hast "copyvio"

[edit]

The bits at the bottom of both pages:

The whole song is a play on German wedding vows (Wollt Ihr einander lieben und achten und die Treue halten, bis dass der Tod euch scheide? - Do you want to love and respect each other and to remain faithful, until death separates you?). Instead of answering with "Ja" (yes), the singer says "Nein" (no) , finally answering the question he said "nothing" to in the beginning.

If the line "Tod, der scheide" is read as "Tod der Scheide", it means "until the death of the vagina" and not "until death, which would separate". This is another example of Rammstein's play-on-words.

Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia 01:11, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hello Pgk,

you helped revert a change by the user above on the article South Tyrol. the user keeps pushing his POV, the edits had to be reverted at least four times in the last 24 hours [3], which amounts in IMO to a violation of the Three-revert rule. is there any proper procedure as to what to do next, do you have any advice, ideas...? with kind regards Gryffindor 23:38, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

== concerning User:Gryffindor == and Trentino-South_Tyrol

hello pgk,

i read an invitation you made for having a vote on Trentino-South Tyrol and South Tyrol. I've since seen that User:Gryffindor has canceled the vote on Trentino-South Tyrol, but its ironic isn't it that he made a move a few months ago with no vote. Now he takes control, cancels the new votes. Even on the South Tyrol vote, the user Nightstallion is already dictating how -he- will count votes. As an admin, please take control of this situation. The User:Gryffindor and many Austrian/German Nationalists are turning WP into a farse. Its about learning, now about pushing political agendas. Rossifumi-gp 08:30, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And this user, by whatever name he currently goes, is massively sockpuppeting. Any way to deal with that, apart from striking out sockpuppet votes in the RM discussion? —Nightstallion (?) 08:52, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me? This is my one and only account. sockpuppeting, eh? Is this what you all did on previous votes. Interesting method. Funny how you show up. Why don't you explain how you have stated on another page that you will dictate how decisions are made. Is this how WP is run now? I've seen logs where Gryffindor moved pages with -no- vote. Address this if you will instead of making personal attacks and accusations. Rossifumi-gp 08:56, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you remove this user from the vandalism list? S/he has vandalised several articles today, has had many warning, and been blocked quite a few times in the recent past. ---Benne ['bɛnə] (talk) 21:35, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Pgk, great job with reporting vandals to WP:AIV. I just wanted to let you know that if you find an account that you reported to WP:AIV is blocked, could you wait a few minutes, and then remove it if the blocking admin doesn't do it first? I ran into some strange problems with the article history when I tried to remove the four IP reports for IPs that I blocked because other folks removed those reports first. I wanted to save some time having to remove reports one by one, and instead remove them all at once. :-) Thanks, --Deathphoenix 18:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thats funny pgk

[edit]

i edited that article in the past, in fact, i have written/edited dozens of articles, (not all under this IP) and often when i write something that are merely facts that make the subject look bad, i come back later and find my edits have been deleted.

noone has lifted a finger to protect the truth in these situations.

apparently it is acceptable to silently sprinkle lies and garbage all over wikipedia, as long as you dont cuss about it. but if you try to write something true, and add the f bomb or two, you get instantly censored within mere seconds.

theres nothing neutral about that. its called protecting the status quo under a misleading guise of neutrality.

Exactly. I was more or less being sarcastic when I asked if you could summarize. EffK is not happy with his dealings with the ArbCom, or with the Catholic Church for its role with the Nazi Party, or with me, or with Str1977. I have not been happy with EffK's disruptive behavior. Do you say that you blocked an IP address that he was using? Since he has not been banned yet, why was he using an IP address? Are you an admin? Do you think that his recent behavior, which is apparently attempting to destroy the ArbCom record, is sufficiently disruptive to warrant a block? Robert McClenon 19:17, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You say that bulk removal of content is considered disruptive and warrants a block. Thank you. I think that EffK's whole use of Wikipedia has been disruptive. It appears that the ArbCom agrees with me. Robert McClenon 19:29, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
