Thanks for the heads up, Stephen (and nice to meet you, too). Ron Griffiths and Mike Gibbins stated that McCartney played piano on those two Badfinger tracks. If memory serves, Tom Evans claimed as much, too. I'd say it is safe information, although not particularly pertinent (unless the reader is a Beatles fan). I'll leave it up to you whether or not to reinsert it. I am more concerned with some of the other new edits that confer undue significance to the band's post-Ham albums. Relative to the band's earlier albums and singles, these later efforts were neither critically nor commercially well received. In case you weren't aware, there are some fans of Joey Molland who have a tendency to hype the band's post-Ham history. They need to be counter-balanced.

Punk Rock
Just responding to your comments, Japan is generally considered on the tour circut for world-wide punk rock acts, None of them go to China or other asian countries. Also the punk rock scene here is huge and thriving, I'm not so sure about other countries.

Blimey, am I going to be on some hitlist now? Is it safe for me to go out? I don't understand the big deal. If these entities are as notable as some are claiming, they will survive AFD. I'm working to rid Wikipedia of what I see as cruft articles on non-notable things, so please can people tone down the agression and the incivility. It would be nice if you respected other people's years of hard work and long, patient discussions on topics that are considered controversial by some, in the same way you obviously expect others to respect you - before whacking articles all over the place with the AFD ugly stick. Thanks for lending a hand around the Britop articles. I've been trying to improve the standard recently but there's a lot to do and it's an uphill battle sometimes. As far as Robbie Williams goes, I'd say he'd be best left out. He may have drawn from Britpop but he wasn't part of the movement at all really. I'd go as far as removing Theaudience, Babybird, The Charlatans, Elbow, Embrace, Feeder, Franz Ferdinand... and that's just as far as F. --Sachabrunel17:08, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Removing references
Just so you know there have been new developments at my talk page. I think it would be best if you did not remove references from articles that are undergoing AfD, even if you think they're spurious. It just looks dodgy. Better to comment in the AfD itself or the article talk page. That's my view anyway. I don't know how many you removed, I only searched a little way back. Hello Kingboyk, I saw on your user page that you are importing the XML dumps and generating link tables... I'm taking it you are using something like the link analysis scripts? I'm not surprised it takes a very long time to do, thats getting outside the realm of things that SQL is good at. I'm a perl programmer myself, not sure what kind you are, but I wrote a Perl module that can parse the entire XML dump file in about 4 hours on my 800 mhz iMac (see Computer help desk/ParseMediaWikiDump. Using a little custom code I build my own indexes in memory using Perl and I can do cleanup operations in just a couple hours. Would you be interested in something like that? I'm sure we can find a way, using an intermediate format, to convert the XML into something that can be easily parsed by what ever language you prefer if you don't know or like Perl. Re-creation
The new version isn't an exact copy of the old. The old one seems a little better written to me, with maybe more info:
Katherine Horton (born 1979(?)) was a British student at Reading University who was raped and murdered on 1 January 2006 on the holiday island of Koh Samui, off the East coast of Thailand. She had been spending the New Year period abroad with her companion, Ruth Adams, before returning to complete their final year of studies toward a degree in psychology.
Horton was talking to her mother in Cardiff on her mobile phone before her conversation was cut short. Her mother reported hearing a dog bark and a scream before being cut off. Her body was found by a tourist and a jet-ski operator on a secluded beach less than twelve hours after she was killed. A post mortem examination revealed she had been beaten about the head and arms with a blunt instrument before being dragged along the beach, and was still alive when she was drowned in the shallow water. Thai police also suspect that she was sexually assaulted at some point during the attack.

If you could help out properly formatting the links in the table on the micronations category discussion page I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to include a link to each AFD discussion for each micronation, and I'm not sure how to do that where there have been multiple AFDs for 1 micro. To be honest, I'm not sure how to do that other than for external links or footnotes. I think it looks fine at is, but if you don't agree I guess you could use external links for the debates which have closed. It's preferable to use internal links where possible, and near mandatory for active AFD discussions so that interested parties can keep on eye on where voters are coming from and what's being said. Since we can't find a technical solution I think it's ok to use the http: form for the completed AFDs only - or ask someone else who is even geekier than I am! :-) (they do exist, in small numbers) --kingboyk23:40, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
ROIO, IMDB, etc
Thanks for the kind words about my Dylan site; they're certainly appreciated. As for the IMDB issue in the "Surf's Up" AFD, while IMDB allows users to submit information, it's run through a vetting process before it's allowed on the site. See [2] for some details. I'm acquainted with several people with nontrivial listings there, and even a registered/verified professional user isn't allowed to add material without some scrutiny. Nils Gessinger plays jazz (www.nilsgessinger.de). He is a very notable musician in Germany, also in São Paulo, Brazil where I live. I'm into jazz therefore I've heard of him. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/p/frank_alexander/ is exactly the same person. Sometimes he is credited as Alex Caldwell (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2091444/). I'm entirely sure he isn't that notable, because IMDB has written nothing about him. He is Ashton Kutcher's friend (www.ashton-kutcher.net). I know this site isn't a reputable source. It was created by fans of the actor. Ashton Kutcher also mentioned him on Making The Band (2001) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0236907/).
I do understand your point. He doesn't fall into the criteria of notability. But I also feel you people should check more pages on google before posting things like that. Apparently you took a look on the first page.

The Beatles
Hi Kingboyk - if you're thinking of getting a group of editors together to work on a list of unreleased Beatles songs, let me know - I'd be willing to help (if you look at the afd saves on my user page, you'll see "I'll Get You" and "Matchbox (song)" there, so that should give you some indication of my musical interests :). a lot of them are tiny edits - you rack up huge numbers of edits when you're a stub-sorter. As to the book, I haven't really started work on it seriously yet - just sounding out artists and writing an intro - since (believe it or not) I'm waiting until after an art exhibition I've got coming up in a couple of weeks! Thanks for the message, and yes, I think that would be a good idea. If we could find all the stubby and badly maintained articles and consolidate them into something encyclopedic and of high quality it would be great. Can you suggest a suitable venue to take the discussion to?
Suzy Parker (Beatles Song) is a bit of an anomoly - apparently it was included in snippet form in the Let It Be film (I've never had the priveledge of seeing it). Therefore, it has arguably been released.
Sorry about the little run in on CFD but I couldn't quite follow the tangent you were taking - if you want to create a list of members you can just go ahead! :-) It doesn't - to my mind - have any bearing on which category the existing articles belong to. --kingboyk00:31, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

I'll have a hunt and see what track names I can come up with from my Beatles-related books. I don't think "The Beatles bootlegs" would be the place for it, because some of the songs mentioned may never have ben released even in that form, or were shelved and only released bby one of the Beatles as solo works. "The Beatles unreleased songs" might be a better title (possibly with an apostrophe after the s). I agree that the items on Let it Be might be a problem (I've never seen it either), but perhaps the intro of the article could define exactly what goes on it, and those have never been officially released on record. The obvious approach - and it's kinda surprising there isn't one already* - is a Beatles Wikipedia:WikiProject. *I've not located one, anyway. I'm willing to sign up, although I don't want to commit to starting it because I have a large Todo list and more importantly once I've cleared that I ought to attend to some real work!
