Orphaned non-free media (Image:Transgression.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Transgression.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Eatenbacktolife-alt.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Eatenbacktolife-alt.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Grand_Belials_Key_logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Grand_Belials_Key_logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 16:05, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Angband (band)

[edit]

Hello sir, I created an article about Angband, but It was deleted. once the previous creator claimed they are the first metal band from Iran to sign a deal with a European records company but didnt have enough sources, I have many sources like: www.lordsofmetal.nl , www.stormbringer.at , www.localradio.pehzeh.net www.metal-rules.com , www.blabbermouth.net and their album has lots of good feedbacks, I created a page in my sandbox: User:Spada2/Sandbox the question I have: can I create the page not mentioning the first band thing due to their positive feedbacks? And I've been told that someone in the wikipedia Project Music should review the article first. Thanks in advance--Spada2 (talk) 08:17, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

THP8

[edit]

Hello there. Unfortunately, links to profile pages are not notable - see WP:VG/EL: "Inappropriate external links...The video game's page at 1up, GameSpot, IGN, GameSpy and other commercial video game news and reviews sites". Listing the music in the game isn't quite so clear cut, but would still fall under WP:N (soundtracks are generally only notable when released separately, in which case only the songs on the soundtrack should be listed - there are exceptions, like GTA IV, as the music is an important part of it and was commented on in most reviews) or WP:NOT (wikipedia is not a game guide or indiscriminate list of information). Please don't add back the soundtrack or profile pages again, at least without further discussion. Thanks! Fin© 12:27, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I think it'd be best to bring up the soundtrack issue on WT:VG, it'd be much faster to get a response than on the THP8 talk page. I think it might have been discussed before, but I can't remember when, or what the outcome was. Fin© 16:46, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed your note about the Fuck the Facts article needing references. I wrote up most of that Musical Styles section a while back based mostly on my music theory background and my knowledge of the bands material. I am wondering what would be the best way to source a section like that? That was my primary reason for not adding any references in the first place. Any suggestions would be helpful, since I would like to improve that section and similar sections for other groups. Thanks! Ibanez Guy (talk) 17:44, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. I will try and find a suitable clip for the middle period, and maybe see if I can find some external sources for some of the general statements (like "they are grindcore" hehe) and maybe some of the more specific things. Let me know if you think of anything else. Cheers! Ibanez Guy (talk) 00:20, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The Connecticut Huskies athletic teams, including the men's basketball, women's basketball, and football teams, their coaches, players, facilities, and history;
  • Notable alumni, including both athletes and non-athletes.

Currently no one WikiProject covers all UConn-related content:
