A tag has been placed on Image:Revs Sculpture In Brooklyn.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Revs Sculpture In Brooklyn.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:Revs Sculpture In Brooklyn.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Revs Sculpture In Brooklyn.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 02:15, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, that was a bit of a mixup on my part - the photograph itself is sourced fine and all that, since you indeed took it and licensed it (I apparently removed that for some reason somewhere along the way - oops). Unfortunately there's also still the issue of the object that photograph is of - the thing may or may not be copyrighted because of that as well, and if it is, then it would need a permission from that guy, too. Whatever the case, the discussion seems to be on Magog's talkpage for now, in case you happen to know anything, or just care to take a gander, or whatnot. Isarra (talk) 04:43, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't begin to know how to get Revs permission. If it needs to be deleted, fine; I stupidly omitted the bottom half of the sculpture and it's thus not something I'm particularly proud of. -- Frank Lynch (talk) 19:58, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK

[edit]

I instead redirected it to Ron Davies' page since it was poorly cited and didn't warrant an article. If you were to remake it with proper citations I think it'd pass notability, but as of now "It Ain't Easy" was a poor article. --Mrmoustache14 (talk) 19:34, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Antioch–Pittsburg (Amtrak station), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page San Joaquin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hoboken, New Jersey

[edit]

Hi. Please do not add uncited material to articles, as you did with this edit to Hoboken, New Jersey, as this violates Wikipedia's Verifiability policy. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here.

In addition, please avoid using dated wording like "on January 18". Such wording, without a specified year, may be unclear to a reader. See WP:DATED for more on this.

Lastly, please avoid words like "claim", and similar loaded terms like reveal, point out, expose, explain, find, note, observe, insist, speculate, surmise, claim, assert, admit, confess, deny, clarify, etc. as these can connote values about the information being stated that cannot be verified or which may not appear to be neutral. See WP:CLAIM for more on this.

If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 21:01, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Don't sweat it. The Dawn Zimmer article had information on that matter, and with citations, so I just copied some of it and added it to the Hoboken article. Let me know if you ever need anything else. Nightscream (talk) 23:57, 20 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks; the syntax for adding references is a weakness for me. I do it all the time in html, but this is different. (I also wasn't sure if I was inserting it in the best place on the page, or if it merited a separate break-out)Frank Lynch (talk) 00:18, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for the kitten and the kind words. When I lived in New York I used to listen to Schaap on "Bird Flight" every morning, and I still listen on wkcr.org when I get to work on time. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:43, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Susie Q (song), as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 17:58, 25 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
