Azul no Azul moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Azul no Azul, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

Comment: Articles in Wikipedia should meet the notability guidelines. The general notability guideline, WP:GNG, states that multiple reliable, independent, significant, and usually secondary references need to be included (there is also the film guideline, see WP:NFILM). In this case, ref 1, 2, and 3 are from the same organisation, with ref 2 and 3 being accidentally duplicated. The first one is a routine announcement that probably fails the significant coverage requirements, whereas refs 2/3 is a general description of the artist Nelson. Additionally, because this was developed in collaboration with the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Portugal, these three references IMHO should not be considered as independent from the subject. This leaves with reference 4, also a routine announcement. I disagree that the notability guidelines are met so have draftified this, see WP:DRAFT, further, elements of the article is promotional, such as Azul no Azul is six minutes of immersion in the vast gamma of the color blue. Still, welcome and thanks for the article! VickKiang (talk) 10:18, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the notification, you were right, I have fixed the sources. Thank you for the help in improving the Wikipedia article. Cinematic Poetry (talk) 10:39, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You were also correct about this line: 'Azul no Azul is six minutes of immersion in the vast gamma of the color blue'. Therefore, it has been removed from the article. Cinematic Poetry (talk) 11:08, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to Norwegian short international film festival. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and there is a potential copyright violation. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:21, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Umakant Bhalerao, thank you for the fast review. I have found those sources on the French wikipedia page for F. J. Ossang. They are precisely the same.
I'll work on finding other reliable sources and improving the article.
Thank you Cinematic Poetry (talk) 12:16, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please add more sources. The first two sources appear to be his profiles. While the third reference seems credible, we'll need more secondary independent reliable sources that offer substantial coverage of the subject.-- Umakant Bhalerao (talk) 12:43, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Visual arts Wikiproject

[edit]

Hello, and good to meet you. I see your main focus is film so, just for a descriptor of the project, on Wikipedia "visual arts" means paintings, sculptures, etc. and not so much film. That is covered at the WikiProject Film page. But hopefully your interest and knowledge includes paintings and the other visual arts, thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 14:11, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@1AmNobody24 thank you for the feedback. I'll find several more reliable sources. May I ask if the language of the draft is acceptable in terms of neutrality? I have recently been addressed as not-neutral in my previous writings, and I am working on improving it. Cinematic Poetry (talk) 17:28, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's kinda hard to say if the current draft is neutral due to the lack of references. But from what I can tell it doesn't look non-neutral. Nobody (talk) 17:36, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@RetroCosmos thank you for notifying me. I didn't know I could not do that, since the COI issue was solved. Maybe you could remove it then. Cinematic Poetry (talk) 07:58, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How was the COI solved? I see you did disclose your COI. However, as far as I know, that is a remedy to removing a UPE tag, not a COI one. Good day—RetroCosmos talk 08:01, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RetroCosmos I received notification that the COI has been deleted from the COI page. Nevertheless, I won’t touch the Template, I’ll let other users do that. Cinematic Poetry (talk) 08:21, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RetroCosmos To be more specific, I did not disclose any COI, because there was never any.
I explained on the COI page how that accusation was a genuine mistake by another user. Now, the practice has been archived, but I can’t fix the pages involved because as you correctly pointed out: I can’t remove templates on pages I create. This will probably result in those pages keeping that templates. Maybe I should add a new message on the article’s talk page. Cinematic Poetry (talk) 08:52, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:30, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DoubleGrazing thank you for the message, definitely a notable film worth a wikipedia page. Unfortunately there is an overall lack of good references since it is a pioneer work created by a female artist in the 70s, and the following works by Godfrey Reggio inspired by this short film have taken the press and the academia attention by storm. I will do more research, find new sources, and re-submit. Would it be possible to add a template to the draft which asks for help to other film scholars? Cinematic Poetry (talk) 11:36, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that it seems a worthwhile subject. Good luck with the source-hunting!
You can place the {{Expert needed}} tag on it, if you wish; I'm not actually sure if that works in the draft space, but worth a try.
Also, you may want to mention this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film, in case any of the project members can help.

I'm glad it worked out.
I'll just mention one small thing: I didn't patrol this article myself, I'll leave that to another new page reviewer, because I feel like I'm a bit involved myself now. There is a small chance that they might think it not notable and send it back to drafts, but TBH I'd be quite surprised if that happens.
