Former Vice President Dick Cheney is known by Dick, not Richard Bruce Cheney. Please see WP:COMMONNAME, which you’ve been reverted and directed to multiple times. Dated statements

[edit]

Please stop introducing the structure As of {{currentyear}} to political articles. Dated statements are used where a fact is known to be true at a specific point in time. This structure has the potential to introduce false statements to articles without editor intervention if the facts underlying the statement become no longer true. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 1994 United States Senate election in Delaware. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. I have reverted your addition of an unsourced date of birth to Tom Atkins (actor). In addition to Wikipedia's basic principle of citing sources (Wikipedia:Citing sources), a special need for citations applies with regard to elements of a biography of a living person (WP:BLPPRIVACY). Feel free to add a date of birth when it is accompanied by a citation to a reliable, published, non-primary source.

The reversion also included the place of birth, which is not covered by WP:BLPPRIVACY, but is covered by Wikipedia:Citing sources. Eddie Blick (talk) 02:27, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your addition of an unsourced date of birth to Karen Lynn Gorney. Please see Talk:Karen Lynn Gorney for comments (essentially applying the same principles that I mentioned in "Khalil Kain edit" above). Eddie Blick (talk) 02:16, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
