This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on File:Data=Nbv2XMfEFHyH0 qL2HyFVWx9dvOANih3y65QjwMvSVqaKjjyYtabe8r5DHKrK-bzKW2buv-k5pnfkaYk4GWQhjsadZU5JQloR5BHKKSUWehtLhtOJnc73ucz37vsmQHHbO4Zljv4tpCaiI5APBr5Vh4FiZW5n6id2QSvIGrurXfeKBlozWucMMhXTDzFBCF5BtR4bCmzARdanoFhPpw-.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, Madhu Gopal. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. The article Emma Hewitt (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:2DABS and one of the listed individuals is not notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. jd22292 (Jalen D. Help

[edit]

Hello, I recently spoke with you about another page. I wanted to ask a question. I created a page A’shanti Gholar, which is for a person I believe is notable, and I think I've demonstrated that well. However, it got tagged for deletion. I was wondering if you might be able to take a look at the talk page and add your opinion if you get a chance? If not, I completely understand as I know how busy life can be! Have a good one, Plantlady223 (talk) 19:40, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion about controversy sections

[edit]

Hello Madhu,

I happen to notice that you've made a number of single-purpose edits to at least five biographies, all edits devoted solely to adding a section about "sexual allegations." The guidelines discourage such edits. --Light show (talk) 05:34, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't hurt to also point out that other WP guidelines also relate, for instance: Wikipedia is not a newspaper: "While news coverage can be useful source material for encyclopedic topics, most newsworthy events do not qualify for inclusion. For example, routine news reporting on things like announcements, sports, or celebrities is not a sufficient basis for inclusion in the encyclopedia."

Or related to Scandal mongering: such as "... promoting things heard through the grapevine or gossiping. Articles and content about living people are required to meet an especially high standard, as they may otherwise be libelous or infringe the subjects' right to privacy." For example, sex scandals, which "may be based on reality, the product of false allegations, or a mixture of both."

Some might thereby consider content in a biography such as the following, which you added, as inappropriate for an encyclopedia: "Michael unzipped his chinos and I registered something amiss,” Braudy wrote. “His voice lowered at least half an octave."source --Light show (talk) 17:12, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Boulder Dash, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chris Gray (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chris Thomas (comedian), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay.
