Reform Cat is a Midnight Crow Pictures fictional character, created by Chris Rowe as part of a grass roots campaign to educate the public about the United Kingdom Alternative Vote referendum, 2011 May 5 referendum on the voting system [1]. The Cat, described as "350ft tall, ginger and capable of firing laser beams from his eyes", was first popularised in the youtube video "Is your Cat confused about the referendum on the voting system on the 5th May?" which was released on the 27th April 2011 [2]. Reform Cat has since been featured in the Guardian [3], FHM [4] and has developed a cult following on Facebook [5] and a range of official merchandise. Reform Cat's YouTube video has had more views than the top Official No and top Official Yes campaign videos put together[6]. To celebrate Star Wars Day Reform Cats follow up video "How REFORM CAT was convinced to vote YES for the Alternative Vote, by the Lord JC himself!" was released on the 4th May 2011 [7].
