I immigrated to Somerset, UK, from the United States in 2006. Since then, I have enjoyed trying to capture the beautiful light and landscapes of this amazing place and have contributed photos to sites in the Somerset wiki project. I have also started and made editorial contributions to other pages pertaining to Somerset, medicine, and assorted other things. I was first roped into the Wikiworld by the nefarious Jim Lane.
I am a freelance science writer and editor. I write a regular column, "What Your Doctor is Reading," for Arthritis Self-Management magazine. I have a M.S. and Ph.D. in Botany and a MA in Journalism from the University of Michigan and worked as a science writer and editor for 13 years at the U.S. National Institutes of Health. I have two sons. My spouse and I enjoy exploring the countryside on his motorcycle.
