Hi,

A summary of what I've tried to do for this page:

  • The aim is to list every Latin-alphabet font included with OS X, in particular the current and coming version.
  • I've decided not to separate out families where there are several sub-families (Avenir/Avenir Next, Helvetica/Helvetica Neue, Times New Roman/Times LT). I think most people will understand what's going on and the doubled names would be ugly as heck.
  • I'm adding this infobox to fonts that I think merit it without it being a distraction-basically those that I feel are best known for being bundled on OS X. So Hoefler Text yes, Clarendon no, PT fonts yes, Impact no, Didot no, Caslon no. That's a personal opinion, admittedly.
  • I've focused on Latin/Greek/Cyrillic alphabets because they're what I know about. If you know more about the Chinese/Arabic/Korean fonts and want to add them, step right up. Obviously many fonts are primarily non-Latin but have Latin glyphs; I've decided to omit these as I doubt they'll be interesting for most readers, and so they can be put in the Chinese/Arabic/Korean etc. boxes if somebody makes them.
  • I've tried to link to everything, but to at least list fonts with no article. Where no article on a specific font is available, I've linked sometimes to an article on the designer or company.
  • Some early OS X installations may have included archaic fonts such as bitmap designs. I've decided not to include these as I doubt they're of more than historical interest.

But any thoughts let me know! Blythwood (talk) 23:08, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
