Genealogy

[edit]

I question the value in the recent addition of distant genealogical ties. "Fourth cousin, six times removed" etc is really streching it. I'd propose most if not all of the tree has little significance to the article itself, and reads like a hobbyist data-mining for 'famous' connections. Is it really needed?--cjllw ʘ TALK 02:52, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Take it out. Others would call it vandalism. It's a waste of space. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.111.109.106 (talk) 01:25, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's removed now. --cjllw ʘ TALK 23:57, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico book

[edit]

Should mention how he gained wide scholarly respect with his Mexico book, even though he had never actually been in Mexico... AnonMoos (talk) 02:03, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong brother

[edit]

I just read the W. Prescott article. It has the wrong Von Humboldt brother. It refers to William (the linguist) when it should be referring to Alexander (the naturalist and new world explorer). Prioranalytics (talk) 03:02, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
