Silva vs Okami

[edit]

What happened to the Anderson Silva vs Yushin Okami fight? Biznob (talk) 20:26, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Restoring the previous article

[edit]

Can someone please restore a previous version, someone vandalized the main page adding lots of unconfirmed fights and deleted all of the references for the previously confirmed fights. Thanks. --80.229.40.248 (talk) 08:57, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Silva Vs GSP

[edit]

This fight is not being added to UFC: Rio, please stop being stupid and do not add this fight as a "Catchweight". There is no talk at all of this, Silva and Okami have already signed to fight at 134.

Cro cop vs Minotouro

[edit]

All of us heard about a fight between Cro cop and Minotouro in UFC 134, but now i see some one changed it to Brendan schaub rather than Mirko , please some one tell us what happend , i 've searched the net but i didn't find any thing to confirm this changing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.83.114.131 (talk) 09:17, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proof of the upcoming bout...

http://mmajunkie.com/news/23617/ufc-confirms-brendan-schaub-vs-big-nog-at-ufc-134-in-brazil.mma

From what I understand, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic is planning on retiring ever since his loss to Schaub. Dana White even said something to that nature at the post fight press conference. On the other hand, I think Mirko has one more fight in his contract with UFC, but, seeing that Brendan Schaub vs Minotauro Nogueira is going down at Rio, I do not believe that Dana will allow Mirko to fight in the UFC again. Too much risk of serious injury considering the fashion at which Mirko gets KOed these days.

The reason they are matching Schaub with Minotauro is that Brendan's last two wins have been over legends, Gabriel Gonzaga and Mirko Filipovic. A win over Big Nog would essentially make Schaub one of UFC's legend killers. Biznob (talk) 18:07, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yuri Alcantara vs Mackens Semerzier

[edit]

I noticed that Yuri Alcantara vs Mackens Semerzier was replaced by Lyoto Machida vs Matt Hamill, but the citations do not match up. Can somebody correct the fighters or the citations? Biznob (talk) 18:11, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I did take the time to read the 2nd citation and see that Mackens is not likely fighting Yuri, but I'm still not sure where the idea of Machida vs Hamill came from... Biznob (talk) 18:15, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Who said the event is called Silva vs Okami 2? if the first match was not in the UFC , that means the title is Silva vs Okami unless they have a third match

UFC Live in a free channel in Brazil by RedeTV!

In this article there's no mention that www.redetv.com.br was the first open channel in Brazil to display the event live on terrestrial TV for the entire country. According to estimatives, it was watched by around 30 million brazilians during Anderson's Silva fight which was the peak time.

Andre.goddard (talk) 13:40, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Topher385 (talk) 17:42, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't watched by 30 million people. The idiot writers making those claims just don't know how tv ratings work. The UFC was watched by 20% of the viewer base at that time. It means 20% of the people watching TV at that time were watching the UFC. The writers seem to think 20% means out of the entire population. 213.94.179.12 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:44, 29 August 2011 (UTC).[reply]
