What is the harm in noting that: Tonic is "Norwegian slang for immigrants from Africa"? Hyacinth 12:23, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because it's false. I've grown up in Norway and never heard that use of the word. --GSchjetne 19:12, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tonic (medicine)

[edit]

Could we have an actual article eexplaining what a "tonic" is in the sense of a medical thing? A link to medicine doesn't really seem adequate. Stevage 21:40, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am looking for a brief and simple explanation for what a "tonic response" is with regards to neurophysiology. Hyderite 00:02, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soda

[edit]

In New England and in New York tonic refers to any kind of carbonated beverage, although mainly Coke, Pepsi, or a substitute cola.
