Fair use rationale for Image:Time-Flight.jpg

[edit]

Image:Time-Flight.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The scarf comment

[edit]

This statement under continuity:

The Doctor also wishes he'd brought his scarf - the time period they travel to is coming up to the Ice Age - forgetting that he left it on Earth before the true events of Castrovalva.

is incorrect. I just re-watched the serial this morning, and what the Doctor said was "It's times like this I wish I still had my scarf." There's no reason to extrapolate from that statement that he has forgotten it was no longer available, only that he was wishing it were. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.142.130.31 (talk) 16:03, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Critical reception?

[edit]

As I understand it, Time-flight is generally regarded as one of the worst Doctor Who stories. I was surprised to find there was no mention of that fact here. Should there be? It seems notable. IGN's professional review, for one, mentions it: [1]. Even the BBC's official site is pretty critical of the story: [2], and I just finished watching the "Mawdryn Undead" commentary, where Peter Davison himself repeatedly alludes to it/criticizes it. Does all this make it relevant enough to mention? --Fru1tbat (talk) 16:31, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It does seem at times like an advertisement for British Airways, but the real objectionable content is Ainley's performance being based on the basest of Asian stereotypes. John Bennett seemed far more respectful of the ethnicity of the character he portrayed in The Talons of Weng-Chiang.--69.124.112.126 (talk) 08:22, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
