Title change?

[edit]

A change of title to The Uninvited seems a little premature. According to Beyond Hollywood there has been no official announcement of this, so let's wait until we're sure. PC78 (talk) 23:50, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FIRST OF ALL TRIVIA IS NOT APPROPRIATE ON WIKIPEDIA. SECONDLY, THIS IS NOT ENGLISH. KTHX. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.126.112.80 (talk) 01:57, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Necessary Cleanup

[edit]

That Casting section, in its current state, is atrocious. It ends with, of all things, a misspelled word in a sentence fragment. It's filled with conjecture, sentence fragments, incoherent sentences or phrases. This page is seriously giving me a headache. Whoever wrote this needs to go back to school, or just be failed out of life. Example from the text:

Elizabeth Banks plays a new charactor personality she ever play as a wicked stepmother Rachel in a remake of the Korean horror flick along with David Strathairn to be a concerned father of two girls who return home after spending time in a mental institution. Arielle Kebbel finally annonced as Alex Rdyell, the older sister of Anna in the upcoming horror flicks.

I honestly think I should start highlighting the entire first sentence. I cannot make heads or tails of it, assuming proper grammar. Never mind the spelling. Somebody, please, help. My head is about to explode from that. --mjv (talk) 17:59, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The plot summary was very poorly written. Aside from a few blatant grammatical errors, the people who decided to take it upon themselves to write it left out quite a few important details. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.215.40.125 (talk) 02:35, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

..Additionally, they plugged in a LOT of "Which makes sense, because..." parentheticals which utterly destroy any semblance of professionalism. Thank you, but I'll decide what makes sense for myself. 214.14.244.16 (talk) 12:54, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Steve[reply]

Land Rovers

[edit]

They're always in horror movies! Why is that? BTW, this is one of the horror films I'm talking about. 98.15.239.157 (talk) 08:38, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Really? I don't remember any other horror flicks with them. Maybe it's because they're driven by creeps! 67.213.218.74 (talk) 00:29, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plot?

[edit]

was she trying to burn down the house? I got the impression she was just bringing the gasoline back to the beach party. Maybe I'm wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.184.121.91 (talk) 04:10, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, she was trying to burn down the house. As she was walking past Alex, she said "let them burn in hell" and started walking back up to the main house. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.161.118.200 (talk) 05:01, 15 February 2009 (UTC) Oh, not to mention that she told her psychiatrist in the last scene that she "did what he said, and finished what she started", referring to killing Rachel, which was what she was trying to do by burning down the house in the beginning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.161.118.200 (talk) 05:04, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Last name

[edit]

I do believe the family's last name is "Ivers", not "Rydell". The father's book has his name as "Steven Ivers", the drawing of the house on the wall says "The Ivers Residence", and at the very end when the sheriff confronts him, he calls him "Mr. Ivers". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.82.162.21 (talk) 23:38, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Due to an edit that I think was vandalism by an IP user, I became aware of the last names here and on all of the individual cast pages possibly being wrong (a mix of Ivers and Rydell for Anna). I re-watched the credits on the movie and checked with the movie's website and updated all names to match the official credits (and also dropped an update note to IMDB because I'm anal). This meant deleting the last names for the entire family, Iris and her brothers, as well as Rachel. In researching this, I noticed many lesser movie sites that have quoted both names (Ivers and Rydell)) while all major media outlets listed no last name for these characters. So I felt it was more encyclopedic to make the names match the official record, regardless of dialog in the movie. I fixed the actor pages as well. For whatever its worth, more outlets list the Rydell last name, though the IP user above me is correct that it is Ivers. Millahnna (mouse)talk 04:02, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Plot Summary

[edit]

I've added this movie's plot summary to my movie summary to do list (personal mission). If anyone has any suggestions or would like to help me (I'm new to larger edits) let me know. My list is getting rather long (see my user page) so it will probably be a few weeks before I get to this. I will definitely be addressing the issues raised above (see Necessary Cleanup) and will likely work on it in my sandbox which is linked on my user page. Millahnna (talk) 13:34, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken a first pass at this, adding source tags for actor pages, and doing general word cleanup. But there are a few details I'm not sure I'm remembering correctly. Specifically in the second paragraph, discussing the planned meeting with Anna and Matt, I thought that Matt didn't show up (in Anna's view of course) and that is why she ended up asleep when he came to the window. But I'm not sure I'm remembering that right; before I edited, the summary jumped from the two planning to meet to her being asleep. I'm not entirely sure that's inaccurate, though it was confusing as written.
The other incident I'm not confident I remembered correctly is after the reveal that Alex is dead (2nd to last paragraph). I thought a montage showed the previous scenes of Alex being "ignored." Again I'm not positive. But then I still think that whole paragraph needs massive work; it had POV problems before and still makes me uneasy.
Anyone who's seen this more recently want to take a stab at it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Millahnna (talkcontribs) 02:05, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind. Watching the relevant scenes now and will address the above as appropriate. Millahnna (mouse)talk 04:11, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still not happy with the length (it's only 568 words now but it LOOKS long to me). But I think it makes a little more sense now in terms of the overall story. I tried to keep some references to the dreams seeming to come true as this is critical for Anna believing her own delusions. I think some of these could be dropped or reworked. I also tried to make it clear when Anna didn't actually wake up from a critical dream (such as the one involving Matt) so much as experience some sort of time shift. Happy editing to anyone who continues to pick away at it. Millahnna (mouse)talk 00:35, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
