Producer

[edit]

Why was Tommy Coster Jr. listed as main producer instead of Dr. Dre? And why was Mel-Man not listed? I Removed Tommy Coster Jr. as producer since he's not credited on the album liner notes, whereas Mel-Man is. By doing some research I found out Tommy Coster Jr. only played the keyboard melody, and didn't do any production, which is a very different thing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.216.8.203 (talk) 04:41, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reference to the song in The Dark Knight

[edit]

Udonknome, could you explain the delition of the section explaining the reference made in The Dark Knight? Why delete and not reorganize for example?

'The Dark Knight' was not necessarily referring to this song when that phrase 'Will the real x please stand up?' was used, because that phrase was originally used in the game show 'To Tell the Truth'; Eminem's use of that phrase is itself referring to something else. Why was stuff deleted?

[edit]

Why was information concerning Tom Green, Brittney Spears, and Christina Aguilira deleted from the article? The claims were all correct and supportable by looking at the lyrics. --EngineerScotty 17:30, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because they can do it. You have to source your info thoroughly and quote it verbatim from a known source. And even then, your info isn't guaranteed to stay up. I love it when I put in a lot of time to research and write something into an article, just to have it reverted by a bot, not even an actual person, but a silly old bot!!! That's why I'm down to just making spelling and grammatical corrections only these days. Champaign (talk) 02:43, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All of the music video material is gone. Like the real appearance of Fred Durst. It seems like looking back in the edit logs someone keeps controlling the verdict, yet not delivering actual descriptive information or evidence of the material in the music video. Rather than revert, it should be edited to add the actual information of the music video Jerry Steinfield (talk) 00:56, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just if someone had witnessed these scienes on the music video, otherwise these scienes has not existed and, therefore, if you say that something you don't know is real, your claim becomes doubtful.
But either way, regardless if it's veridict or not, what really matters is the actual information about it, 'cause, sometimes, some stuff are changed, and it includes, of course, MVs 177.105.90.85 (talk) 20:10, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Code missing from Info Box?

[edit]

I'm not sure, but it appears code is (was) missing from the info-box. The chart position code was like this:

 Chart position = <ul>
<li>#1 <small>(UK)</small></li>
<li>#2 <small>(Switzerland)</small>
<li>#2

ll>(Norway)</small>
<li>#3 <small>(Sweden)</small></li>
#4 <small>(US)</small>
<li>#4 <small>(Italy)</small>
<li>#6 <small>(France)</small>
<li>#6 <small>(Austria)</small>
<li>#6 <small>(Finland)</small>
<li>#7 <small>(Germany)</small> |

I have tried to set it up now, however I am assuming that the #2 refers to Norway, however there could be any number of entries missing and the #2 might not refer to Norway. If anybody can double check this, appreciated. DanielBC 11:17, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gay Marrigae

[edit]

The gay issue must be addressed in the article more exactly. However I don't think there is a negative representation in this video (as well as other videos by Eminem regarding the issue.) It may looks like disapproving, but come on, we are now addapted to this level of joking. I am going to open an entry by the title "representation of gay people in popular culture" or simply gay representation —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nyeditor (talkcontribs) 16:04, 11 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Twilight Zone Reference

[edit]

Anyone ever realize the title is a reference to a twilight zone episode 'Will the real martian please stand up'? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.3.199.143 (talk) 04:31, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This issue is addressed at the top of this talk page. It is not a reference to whatever happens to use that phrase. Nicander (talk) 19:39, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

 • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)

Please Shut Up

[edit]

Under the parodies section, it states that "Will the Real Slim Shady PLease Shut Up" then goes on to say someone named Emily Ellis recorded it and says she's often confused with Christina Aguilera. But then the reference link goes to a People magazine article saying that it is Christina. Now, I can buy that that is an example of the mix up, but there is no documentation of Emily Ellis in the article. No page about this girl-rapper. NO link to a reference clearing up the mistaken identity. A Google search brings up people with that name who are models and actresses and non-celebs. This makes the Ellis info suspect at first glance. The entry needs to be properly cited for wikipedia standards. Medleystudios72 (talk) 18:30, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If there isn't even a article about this such person named Emily Ellis (the girl you have mentioned), perhaps this person don't be so famous or just be someone forget to create, either this person rather so, or forgot. 177.105.90.85 (talk) 20:24, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update: found this link - http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,85411,00.html for a 2000 article which discusses the Ellis connection and the mix up. This should be listed as a sites source now. Medleystudios72 (talk) 16:06, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

So if none of yu relized it eminem references the bloodhound gangs song nothin but mammals in it. the exact part is where it say "we aint nothin but mammals well some of use cannibals Etc is there a reason this isnt in the article 209.169.202.90 (talk) 04:02, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comedy hip-hop?

[edit]

Yes, it has comedic elements. Having said that, the film The Matrix contains some quite funny jokes, but that doesn't make it a comedy. The primary tone of the song is not comedic, so unless 'comedy hip-hop' gets cited, it'll probably be removed. 122.105.138.248 (talk) 00:27, 30 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WP Christina Aguilera?

[edit]

I think that WikiProject Christina Aguilera is suitable here. (talk) 14:55, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is an important song. 109.103.81.34 (talk) 19:40, 25 January 2017 (UTC) Dereck[reply]

KIIS FM Version

[edit]

I remember there was a very special edit of "The Real Slim Shady" played exclusively at 102.7 KIIS FM that featured the following inclusions, treating it as a sort of unofficial remix:

 1. A re-reference to "My Name Is" where Dr. Dre's brief rap line was used, before the part about Eminem locking him up in his basement
 2. Instrumentals of The One (Backstreet Boys song) by Backstreet Boys and Oops!... I Did It Again (song) by Britney Spears over Eminem's chorus
 3. A new rap verse written and performed by one of the KIIS FM DJs
