Operators
[edit]Initially set theory is introduced as ZF, then later mentioned as ZFC. According to the ZF/set theory page, ZF and ZFC are not to be used interchangeably and thus this section is confusing. Does TLA+ use ZF or ZFC set theory?
Operators -- define continuous vs. continually in strong vs. weak fairness
[edit]The sentence:
Other temporal operators include weak fairness WFe(A), which means if action A is continuously enabled, it must eventually be taken; and strong fairness SFe(A), which means if action A is continually enabled, it must eventually be taken.
introduces weak and strong fairness. The difference in the definition of the operators is only the phrases continuously enabled vs. continually enabled.
The two words continuously and continually are strong synonyms. Whatever subtle difference in them (as used by TLA+) as modifiers of enabled is lost on the general reader. I believe a further distinction needs to be stated. HiTechHiTouch (talk) 09:42, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
- They aren't synonyms but easy to confuse.[1] I've included definitions based on Lamport's explanation of the words in Specifying Systems, p. 106.--92.77.210.124 (talk) 02:00, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
