What does IED stands for? IED Stands for Intelligent Electronic Device. These devices are used for Substation automation. They generate control commands in case of any voltage, current or frequency anomalies.

Wow! We get enough of this software controlling actual big hardware and then we'll be getting the beginnings of the smart grid. Anyone know how much this is being implemented in the field? 98.206.127.121 (talk) 08:21, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
