Graham
[edit]Graham makes the important distinction that the Confucians and Mohists were real schools, based on generations of disciple and teacher. The "Ru are professional teachers, not primarily of ideas, but of the subjects classified by the time of the Han as the Six Arts, ceremony, music, archery, charioteering, writing and mathematics." The other 'schools' were only tendencies."
However, Graham does not much discuss Sima Tan (Ssu Ma-T'an). This is not a criticism but a note for future work.FourLights (talk) 00:12, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
