Senate Members appointment by the King

[edit]

The political reform act was explicitly abolished by the spanish constitution of 1978 in its derrogative disposition, along with all the other six fundamental laws of the Franco period. Hence the King may not appoint senate members at all. This by the way was a clause introduced to the political reform law in order to be able to push through the reforms and be able to create a majority in the senate to aprove the Constitution.

Prior senates

[edit]

It would be good to have a historical section in this article. This is not the first time Spain has had a Senate. - Jmabel | Talk 02:07, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
