{{editsemiprotected}} I am writing in regards to editing the Rob Dyrdek article. We would like to update the information for Rob as it has changed, and a majority of the current info is not accurate. Being that this article is protected I am unable to edit it. We are looking to update every section with new info. In addition there also a few cleared photos that need to be uploaded.

Please change all sections to include the following info: <copyvio removed>

Declined – In order to add content to Wikipedia it must be either public domain material (such as federal government politicians' biographies) or it must be uniquely written, with verifiable third-party sources, by the editor. This is simply a copy/paste from http://www.dyrdek.com/index.php?c=html&s=more&id=31, which is a direct copyright violation. Jrcla2 (talk) 02:54, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Page The page is yet again being edited with all 100% accurate information. Information was not directly copied and pasted, rather "uniquely written with verifiable third-party sources." I am in fact editing this article on behalf of Rob Dyrdek an am a direct representative of Dyrdek Enterprises. Rob's current biography has been extensively updated and has no points of linkable reference being that our current website, www.dyrdek.com is under construction. If you need any proof of content please feel free to let me know and I will email you directly. In the meantime this page is being updated with valid information.DEI777 (talk) 01:32, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Career section minor grammar error?

[edit]

Not sure, but shouldn't the beginning of the Career section be: "Dyrdek first starred in an MTV reality . . ."

When it comes to an acronym preceded by "an" and "a", I could be mistaken, but I always was told that when prefacing a soft phonic (consonant or vowel) the indefinite article should be "an". This is still a point of argument as seen in the Indefinite Article section of THIS wiki-article.

Grammar Police? Perhaps. The goal of wiki is the pursuit of accuracy so take it FWIW.

The Show Goes On

[edit]

There were many rumors that Rob Dyrdeks Fantasy Factory would end after season 3 before 2011. These rumors were very untrue because season 4 has started airing and it is 2011. But, there are many changes to the show including hiring, firing and remodeling. The foam pit is on the other side of the factory and Tony "Blurry" Turbo is gone along with Jeremy K. Larner, Robs ex manager. Some believe these two are gone from the show because of the bad economy. Blurry never did much and not a lot of viewers expected much from him. Jeremy was a different story because he played an on and off important role in the show and Robs life. But he obviously was not important enough because he was either let go or quit. Remember the past 3 seasons, when Jeremy would only question or put down Robs ideas. Jeremy was never encouraging and rarely ever set up gigs for Rob. Rob was pretty much independent and picked his own gigs. that guy owes me $20 and never payed me and he have alot of money ok rob. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.34.82.244 (talk) 00:05, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rob Dyrdek Foundation

[edit]

The page would be strengthened by a short section about the Rob Dyrdek Foundation, which would then include a link to more information on the organization. A new Wiki page for the foundation could then be setup with basic information.

About Us on Rob Dyrdek Foundation Website — Preceding unsigned comment added by josephsouth (talkcontribs) 10:59, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Rob Dyrdek Foundation is a foundation which supports the whole "Safespot Skatespot" concept started by Rob Dyrdek himself. I GUESS THIS IS WHY ROB DESCRIBES HIMSELF AS A PHILANTHROPIST????? ha ha ha ha ha!!!! Douchebag Rob is only worried about how douchebag Rob can promote himself. LETS BE CLEAR ABOUT THAT! He started the Safespot Skatespot TO PROMOTE HIMSELF so skaters could skate as much as they want without fighting the law. These skatespots are posted all around the Los Angeles area TO PROMOTE HIMSELF and might potentially go global TO PROMOTE HIMSELF as in go to different states. Rob get money from his contributers TO PROMOTE HIMSELF Carl's Jr and Seven Eleven. But, before Rob actually got money TO PROMOTE HIMSELF for the skateparks, Carl's Jr asked him to make two (2) viral videos, one including him dressed up as the Happy Star. He decided for one to skate through a participating Carl's Jr. TO PROMOTE HIMSELF and for the other video he was in the HappyStar suit TO PROMOTE HIMSELF doing random acts at the Factory and he ended it by posing he was in the suit, falling off a zipline. In reality, he put a test dummy he called Timmy the Testie in the suit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mriemers (talkcontribs) 03:56, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

dont you ever dare be this disrespectful again to Rob Dyrek he is the goat. also name one celebrity that doesnt promote themselves.

Who in God's name decided that Rob 'the serial self promoter' Dyrdek is a 'Philanthropist'???

There is no citation, there is NOTHING on the page to support such an assertion.

As best I can tell, this douchebag is using wikipedia another self promotion tool

I have MADE DONATIONS to wikipedia in the past. If you don't fix this OBVIOUS piece of bullshit, you've lost me as a user from this point forward.

Your invective notwithstanding, I have Done this because at the core of your comment is a good-faith challenge to uncited BLP material. That being said, you really need to watch your tone and remain civil. Just because you have made donations to the Wikimedia Foundation (which I'm sure they appreciate) doesn't give you any more control over Wikipedia than anyone else. —KuyaBriBriTalk 13:58, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Edit #1: An existing link leads to the wrong article and should be redirected to the correct article. The incorrect link is found in section 2.1 Television. In the last sentence of the second paragraph, there is a link for the name "Big Black" which leads to an article for a band called Big Black ("http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Black"), not the person referenced in this article. The correct link for the person named "Big Black" as referenced here is ("http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Boykin"). This correct link can already be found in the first paragraph, first sentence of this same section 2.1 Television via the name shown there as "Christopher 'Big Black' Boykin".

Edit #2: Supply a person's full name. Also in section 2.1 Television, the last word of the second paragraph names a cast member only as "Sterling". As can be found in the "Main cast" listing in the article "Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory" ("http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Dyrdek%27s_Fantasy_Factory"), Sterling's name is shown as "Sterling 'Steelo' Brim" and presumably should be shown that way here as well.

Not done: Unfortunately, you will have to provide an independent reliable source for the change you want made. Wikipedia has a very strict policy on how we write articles about living people, and we need an external source to verify all information. If we could accept your edit request, anyone can write anything about any living person by simply saying "I'm the guy, please write about this". Also, Wikipedia does not contain original research, so this website is not best place to publish the information first. Thank you. Mz7 (talk) 01:35, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

World records

[edit]

The § World records section. First ref needs an archive-date and archive-url; 26 March 2010.[1] I'm not sure if the stuff about Big Black should be in this article about Rob Dyrdek. If it does, I suggest removing "also" (because "Big Black also" is multi-interpretable). Also, to the bananas stuff add "in one minute" (he ate 3, by the way), and to the donuts stuff add "in 3 minutes" (he ate 5). --82.136.210.153 (talk) 11:35, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done I have updated the source with the archive and added the time periods. I have not removed "also", because I feel that the wording is fine given the context. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! Mz7 (talk) 21:31, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
