Th decision by User:Barkeep49 to redirect this article was the correct one as at this point in time this is not notable. It will become notable in November 2020 when Transdev_Brisbane_Ferries can be renamed River City Ferries - just updating the history to reflect the takeover. It is then not necessary to copy all that information from the Transdev article to here. Fleet Lists (talk) 04:50, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree Reubot (talk) 09:01, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I can't agree. To suggest that the subject of an article gains (and would therefore inherently, lose) notability on the sole basis of when they begin is lunacy - otherwise, articles like Brisbane Metro or Cross River Rail wouldn't exist, because they're not operational yet, and the Government of South Vietnam wouldn't exist since it's now defunct. River City Ferries in itself is notable and should have its own article. Also, renaming the article of a separate company to the name of the company that takes over its main contract is disruptive and has no policy basis. The company, Transdev Brisbane Ferries (part of the Transdev Australasia group), will continue to exist beyond November, as they also (under the master Transdev brand) operate part of the Brisbane bus network.[1] The notability of River City Ferries comes from the fact that it is the subject of independent, reliable sources, not to mention that it has a contract worth almost A$400,000,000 with the largest local government authority in Australia[2] ItsPugle (please use {{ping|ItsPugle}} on reply) 10:11, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As the article will certainly meet the threshold for notability once it commences in 2 months time, pointless to delete only to recreate again. Q551 (talk) 05:42, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

KIttyKat numbers -- Sep 2021

[edit]

I have added photographs of three KittyKats. River City Ferries indicates five commenced on 2020. I am unsure what happened to the previous ones, or were they renamed? Is the 'call sign' a radio call sign, or a reference to the vessel registration on the vessel's side? For someone else with knowledge to resolve.Q8682 (talk) 10:10, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
