First wife?
[edit]"best age to marry is thirty-seven for a man and eighteen for a woman, precisely the ages at which he and Pythias were married (L132. Aristotle: Philosophy in an Hour)" Paul Strathern ce2019?
M Stone ce2021 Jan 9.
The article mentions Pythias as "Aristotel's first wife". But there is no word about any which he and Pythias were married wives on Aristotel's page. It looks pointless.
Mnesachus?
[edit]The last paragraph on her works in biology says that she worked on a biology encyclopedia with her husband, Mnesachus, which seems to contradict the rest of the article, which makes no mention to any Mnesachus and instead claims she was married to Aristotle. While I can't find any information on anyone called Mnesachus, Wikipedia has information about several other Ancient Greeks named Mnesarchus but none of them seemed to be alive at the same time as Pythias. Is this sentence supposed to be referring to Aristotle instead (which would make sense given he was a biologist) or is it instead talking about a different Pythias? I do not have access to the cited source to check. Baqeua (talk) 01:11, 14 March 2018 (UTC)
Dates
[edit]How could she be active in 330 BC if she died in 355 BC? Cw3Retired (talk) 03:56, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
Why mention in this article that Pythias was an embryologist, then not provide any further details about this claim in the text of the article? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 22:27, 16 October 2022 (UTC)
Evidence as a biologist and embryologist
[edit]This page is a source of various more modern poorly researched books claiming Aristotle's wife was an embryologist etc
there is no evidence of this, this page needs to not promote this as it is a source of popular misconception and misinformation. There is no primary evidence of it and most scholars don't mention this because its invented out of nothing. CantingCrew (talk) 21:24, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
