Fight card

[edit]

Removed Mirko vs TBA, Fujita vs TBA, and Wanderlei vs TBA... Mirko is not fighting, his foot is injured, the earliest he will be fighting is the NYE event. Wanderlei won't be fighting either, he may or may not be at the NYE event. Fujita is up the air for the event. But besides that, all 3 were removed to limit it to confirmed match-ups. Baroni/Nishijima was added to the list. Also, Butterbean/Hunt is not a boxing match, it's still an MMA fight, not quite sure where someone got the idea it was other than that...

actually my apologies on butterbean/hunt as boxing I just read tonight nsac's exec director's view and he won't allow it as an mma fight, so changed that back Thesaddestday 06:34, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

The paid attendance for the event was 8,079, as released by the NSAC. Thesaddestday 00:28, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--69.175.88.28 07:57, 1 November 2006 (UTC) It should continue to quote that figure on the Pride 32 page because the NSAC is the official sanctioning body of MMA in the state of Nevada. They have no history of, or reason to, lie about attendance figures or exaggerate attendance figures, whereas promoters have a long history of doing that kind of thing. --69.175.88.28 07:57, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mirko not fighting

[edit]

Mirko was not barred from fighting. After he won the OWGP it became immediately clear he was not fighting because he injured his foot. So his foot kept him from competing, not the NSAC. Also, it's very much possible he would not have foughten anyways so he could prepare for Fedor. As for the original promo poster, that was just that, a promo poster. When that was released by PRIDE it wasn't clear who was fighting really. They are slow with their match-making and they were using the poster with big names to hype their invasion into America. Trivia

[edit]

I've removed the trivia about Japanese fans traveling to the US for the event for a second time. It's no more notable than the fact that US fans travel to Japan to watch shows. --- Trench 00:26, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

someone might want to edit this "After the event, Vitor Belfort and Pawel Nastula both tested positive for banned substances; Nastula for nandrolone and Belfort for 4-hydroxytestosterone.[8] He decided to fight within the 9 month imposed ban by the NSAC, therefore probably ending any hope of ever seeing him fight again in North America." on the seconds sentence where it says he, are they talking about nastula or belfort? if belfort it should be noted that he did fight in the us at the affliction banned ppv. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.188.195.13 (talk) 23:11, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
