Question

[edit]

In Early hockey, "He initially had an offer from the Montreal Canadiens of $1,000 for, but refused.". Is that for the season? You're missing a word. Maxim(talk) 15:25, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be at all useful to add in some or all inflation adjustment (per Bank of Canada)? The signing bonus alone is worth roughly $9,000 in 2018. Maxim(talk) 15:31, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and added the {{Inflation}} template to the dollar values, which does give it a much more impressive context. And thanks for going through the article, nice to have someone looking at it already. Kaiser matias (talk) 09:41, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For tonight (or tomorrow if I fall asleep) Courcelles (talk) 01:02, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Done
  • "Skilled in multiple sports, Gerard was regarded as "a first class cricketer, an outstanding paddler and a better than ordinary baseball player" in his youth." Source for the quote?
Done
  • "He initially had an offer from the Montreal Canadiens of C$$1,000 (equivalent to $21,400 in 2016) for, but refused." For?
Done
  • "He played eleven games with the Senators during the 1913–14 NHA season, and a further two games with the New Edinburghs team, recording thirteen points for the Senators and scoring two goals for the New Edinburghs (assists were not accurately recorded at the time). He appeared in all twenty games for the 1914–15 season, in which the Senators won the league championship and played the Vancouver Millionaires of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHA) for the Stanley Cup; Vancouver won the series. In 1915, he was named to the NHA All-Stars which went on a tour in British Columbia to play PCHA teams. He again played in all the games for Ottawa during the 1915–16 season, recording 18 points in 24 games." Watch your sourcing. Repeat sources more often if necessary so it doesn't look like so much unsourced statistics.
Done
  • "Gerard twenty points in twenty games." Missing a word here.
Done
  • "The team won the Stanley Cup for the fifth time in 1925–26." Isn't it HIS fifth, and the team's first?
Done
  • "The final against the Victoria Cougars of the Western Hockey League was the last time the Stanley Cup was played for by non-NHL teams" Ref?
Just need to get page number.

Thanks for going over it. I may be slightly delayed in getting to it, just busy flying the next couple days. Kaiser matias (talk) 04:29, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Courcelles (talk) 12:23, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Got most of this done, just need to check a few sources to confirm citations. Should be ready within a day though. Kaiser matias (talk) 12:30, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No deadline (Well, as long as progress is being made, which it is here!) Courcelles (talk) 12:54, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Just moved and getting things set up, which is making it a challenge to get the last touches done. But it will get done, I promise that. Kaiser matias (talk) 15:39, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
After our last move, I might have told my wife "never again"... I remain hopeful my declaration can prove correct! Courcelles (talk) 16:15, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi guys. I noticed there is one "Kitchen 2009" in the references. Should it be "Kitchen 2008"? – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 16:25, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Finnusertop: Thanks for noticing that, you are definitely correct. Kaiser matias (talk) 15:55, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
(outdent) @Courcelles: Finally got my living situation sorted out. Just need to get one more page number, which I should be able to tomorrow, Sunday at worst. After that everything should be good to go. Will post when done. Kaiser matias (talk) 15:55, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
And as promised, taken care of. The article should be all good now. Kaiser matias (talk) 22:36, 13 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
