Notability is questionable
[edit]The notability of this house is questionable; it's part of the Carmel walled garden. Houses don't inherit notability from the people that lived in them. It had been represented as "the first built on Carmel Point" but this is contradicted by one of the sources, a local one at that. It is not on the NRHP. I think the article should either be AfD'd or redirected. Netherzone (talk) 21:06, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- Nobody is claiming that notability is inherited because of former occupants (except yourself). See WP:INHERIT
- Caution: This section is not a content guideline or policy. It only applies to arguments to avoid at WP:Articles for deletion.
- Furthermore, even if you took this to AfD, myself and others would never argue, "Keep, because it was the home of a famous person", because if we did, you would say "That is an argument to avoid at AfD", rightly so. We would argue instead, "Keep, because the home is discussed in multiple reliable sources per GNG". The essay only applies to ARGUMENTS to avoid at AfD ie. don't make arguments like "Notable because it was the home of a famous person". Since nobody would make that argument, you have nothing to worry about. The essay does not concern sources, content in articles, real-world relationships, etc.. it only concerns arguments made by Wikipedia editors themselves. -- GreenC 20:18, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
