Moved
[edit]Moved this page to "Bird-and-flower painting" as that is the name by which it is best known in English. As a rather important term in Oriental art, it's a pity that the article languished at its former location for so long. We also need more links pointing to this page. Weird sentence in the lead
[edit]«It originated in the Tang dynasty where it gained popularity, matured at the of the Tang dynasty and during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, and fully reached its peak during the Song dynasty, where it clearly became socially relevant in Chinese culture»
Problems with this sentence: 1. «It originated in the Tang dynasty and matured in the Tang dynasty». Weird repeat. 2. «At the of the Tang dynasty». Very bad grammar.
I would change it myself, but I don’t know enough about this topic. Henrik242E (talk) 16:34, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

POV-removal of Vietnam
[edit]I wrote this section on my wife's laptop a few minutes after this edit, but the laptop crashed. Back in 2019 a user removed all references to Vietnam from this article, no reason was given, they just removed content. This removal was odd because this very much is a concept in Vietnamese culture (Internet Archive's Wayback Machine). As far as I can tell that edit had no basis in reality other than to push a POV where Vietnam is not a part of the Sinosphere. I had more examples when I originally wrote this section before hitting "Save", but I can't remember all the sources I consulted. --Donald Trung (talk) 13:45, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
Bird-and-flower in a Persian/Mughal context
[edit]Suggestion: add a section on bird-and-flower paintings in Persia.
There isn't yet an English-language article for gol-o-morg
You could include stuff from the Topkapi and Diez Albums (especially Bahram Mirza).
