Subah

[edit]

The former sub divisions include an array of statuses: province, territory, county, sector, states and others. It only seems fit that this subdivision is identified by its endonym. Aditya(talkcontribs) 20:05, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If Province is the preferred coinage then at least link it to other provinces in the same empire, like "Province" in Roman Britain links to "Roman province", not "Province".Aditya(talkcontribs) 20:34, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bazaan, talk pages are for more use than making rude comments. It's for discussion (part of policy). Do not keep reverting without a discussion. And, do not use edit summaries as discussions. Aditya(talkcontribs) 02:34, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict between articles

[edit]

Some of the information in this article conflicts with that in Principality of Bengal. ZFT (talk) 20:00, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A few problems

[edit]

The claim that "It alone accounted for 40% of Dutch imports outside the European continent" is OR. Om Prakash actually writes that: "Because Bengal alone accounted for more than 50 percent of the total of textiles and around 80 percent of the total of raw silk imported from Asia, the share of this region in the total Asian imports at the end of the seventeenth century was approximately 40 percent. This proportion was much higher for Mughal India as a whole." So it was not 40% of import outside Europe, but 40% import from Asia. The second source says nothing about Dutch import whatsoever.

Also the claim that Bengal accounted for 50% mughal empire gdp is ridiculous and based on non-reliable polemical article in some newspaper. I am going to remove it. DMKR2005 (talk) 20:02, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Population of places other than Bengal Subah

[edit]

Various IP edits over the years have left the demographics section with an odd emphasis on the population of places other than Bengal (Britain, India, Europe, and Asia). The information may be true, but is off topic. Contrast this with featured articles such as: Ancient Egypt, Byzantine Empire, Song dynasty, and Empire of Brazil. None of them discuss population estimates outside their geography. The extraneous population infomation here doesn't serve an obvious purpose, so I've removed it. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:40, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
