Fair use rationale for Image:Azure Dreams.jpg

[edit]

Image:Azure Dreams.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merge proposal

[edit]

I agree with Hibana's rationale from March 2008 that Azure Dreams and Other Life: Azure Dreams ought to be merged, as the subject of the latter article is but a port of the former's subject. Also, I'm unaware of the GBC port described in the latter having ever gone by the name "Other Life: Azure Dreams" in English at all, which makes that article's titling suspect. Does anyone oppose merging these articles into one (given the lack of discussion since March)? D. Brodale (talk) 04:14, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The two versions are similar, but also very different. I kind of like them being separate articles; but you are right about the title. The GBC version's article title should be changed because both versions were called "Other Life: Azure Dreams" in Japan. Neither US nor Europe ever had "Other Life" in their title. - Akadewboy (talk) 19:48, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The two versions are both called "Azure Dreams," you are correct on that. The title needs to be changed, but it needs to be made clear that the one on GameBoy is different. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.236.193.192 (talk) 23:44, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They should be merged. There's really no reason not to.  ?EVAUNIT神になった人間 15:01, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the GBC version has some story differences where you can meet with some of Guy's (the main character's father) old friends in the tower, along with the one's mentioned on the GBC page. Also the set of monsters is pretty vastly different along with the layout of the tower. There would have to be a (compared to the length of either article as they stand) lengthy differences section if they were merged. WonRei (talk) 12:49, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GBC version...

[edit]

Despite the discussion above, the GBC version can hardly be called a port -- despite being on an inferior system it's more of a remake. There's NO town building (outside of 'beautifying' apparently), no romance stuff, and battles are more like Pokemon where they play out on a separate screen. Plus there's a whole second dungeon - the tower itself has only 31 floors, the new dungeon has 100. Just tossing in that there's a "port to GBC" does neither game justice. I understand why the old page was merged, but it's clear from that that there should be some info on WP about it. ♫ Melodia Chaconne ♫ (talk) 21:47, 9 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is only one town upgrade and two home upgrades, closest to romance you get is Selfi healing you eventually (but only when your home is L3 as hers), there's a separate screen only when you (or buddy within view range) deal or recieve critical damage. Therefore, it could be seen as a "demake" of this game. Also, paradoxically, Ghosh keeps assaulting the player even after feeling a certain kinship upon finding the azure cloth supposedly belonging to his teacher. This is possibly due to not enough space in the cartridge. For same reason, "blind" only affects monsters the player owns, but not the player's character. Also, while in Mystery Dungeon there's a perma-escort character (Shiren's pet, your Pokemon partner...), here the player can actually opt to play in a more traditional way, forgoing any buddies after first raid, while in MD it can only be done after the storyline is finished.
