This sentence: "Up until now, Air Mauritius has not had any tragic accidents." worries me a little - is it needed? Nevilley

Huh?

[edit]

It started airline operations in August 1972 with a Piper Navajo aircraft on a flight from Mauritius to Réunion. International operations started in 1977. - That is to say, MRU-RUN is not international? Or was the 1972 service to Rodrigues and not Réunion? --apoivre 09:52, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: In the aviation jargon a flight between MRU and RUN or ZSE is called an interisland route and not considered to be international.

Seychelles

[edit]

Air Mauritius used to fly to the Seychelles. Ans while this is no longer listed under destinations I am unable to find any reliable source which shows that this service has stopped. If there are no objections I will put it back --Maurice45 (talk) 17:33, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A350 order

[edit]

So far, I've reverted the addition of an order for a number of A350s twice. The first time ([1]) the edit was completely unsourced. Regarding the second one [2], the references added clearly stated that this was just a memorandum of understading, i.e. not a firm order yet. Please stop with this addition until a firm order is placed.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:52, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted again ([3]). Is anyone reading this? Will request protection.--Jetstreamer Talk 18:02, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please provide sources stating that the airline has a firm order of this type of aircraft. They will normally announce it in their press release or on Airbus's website. 68.119.73.36 (talk) 18:44, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the press release announced by the airline about the Airbus A350s (http://www.airmauritius.com/news/News%20Release%20FLEET%20RENEWAL.pdf). It says that the first 2 aircraft will be leased by another company while the other 4 will be part of the fleet. I believe the press release says that this is a firm order. 68.119.73.36 (talk) 18:53, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the comment. The following portion of the press release is what bothers me: ″...and the remaining four will be purchased from Airbus″. To me, these aircraft hadn't been acquired yet. It's very unlikely that the airline will pay for them in cash. Therefore, there should be sources mentioning the financial conditions for the transaction, e.g. naming the banks that will finance this. Personally, I'd wait.--Jetstreamer Talk 19:17, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've reverted ([4]) the addition once again. This time it was completely unsourced. Can the author of these edits please discuss the matter here? Additionally, I've reverted ([5]) the unexplained removal of content that is properly sourced. If this pattern continues, I'l be be contacting an administrator again to silverlock the article. Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 10:28, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I feel the IPs altering the fleet table are not reading this. The same modifications keep going ([6], [7], [8]). I've requested semi-protection of the page ([9]).--Jetstreamer Talk 10:46, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No aircraft on option in fleet table

[edit]

There has been a discussion a long time ago at WT:AIRLINE regarding the inclusion of aircraft on option in fleet tables and it was agreed not to include this information. Furthermore, WP:AIRLINE-FLEET-LIST does not have a column for the options. This [10] edit has been reverted accordingly.--Jetstreamer Talk 14:04, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Subsidiaries

[edit]

Subsidiaries included in infoxes are those that are notable enough to have a stand alone article, hence British Airways lists BA CityFlyer and BA EuroFlyer, but not the other 30 that don't have articles. Likewise the Aer Lingus and Iberia articles list the two subsidiaries with articles, but not the other six and seven respectively.

Airmate Ltd, Air Mauritius Holidays Ltd, Air Mauritius Holidays (Pty) Ltd. Australia, Air Mauritius Institute Co. Ltd, Air Mauritius SA (Proprietary) Ltd, Mauritian Holidays Ltd. (UK), Mauritius Helicopters Ltd, Mauritius Estate Development Corporation Ltd, Pointe Coton Resort Hotel Company Ltd and Mauritius Shopping Paradise Company Ltd are subsidiary companies of Air Mauritius, but to date none have stand alone articles. Including them just bloats the infobox with no benefit. Twebentho (talk) 06:17, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Subsidiaries included in infoxes are those that are notable enough to have a stand alone article". Where did you get that rule from?--Jetstreamer Talk 15:23, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
