Requesting to add CSD A7/G11. Came to this page when someone added a section on the Imageboard article for 420chan with an unsourced one-sentence description and a Main article link here (redirecting to itself). No other article points here and the article on imageboard didn't/doesn't mention it. Like creating an article for Bob's wiki that redirects to Wiki. --— Rhododendrites talk |  19:43, 19 June 2014 (UTC) — Rhododendrites talk19:43, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Rhododendrites: It's not clear whether you want the redirect 420chan or the article Imageboard tagging. I assume the former, since you posted on the redirect's talk page; if that is indeed the case, Not done: because it's clearly not WP:CSD#G11, and the Article criteria (which include A7) don't apply to redirects. If none of the General criteria or redirect criteria apply, please take it to WP:RFD. --Redrose64 (talk) 21:10, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Interesting. I'm surprised I haven't encountered this situation before. So the practice of creating a redirect page for yourself, band, friends, etc. which simply redirects to a general subject article has to go through RfD? E.g. if I created Rhododendrites to redirect to List of chess players, Chess, or Human (none of which mention me, but I do happen to play chess and I am human), there's no G/R criteria that redirect can be made to fit? To me it seems like a promotional tactic, but I understand what you're saying that it's not what G11 is for. --— Rhododendrites talk21:25, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:CSD#R3 may apply in such cases, but not here: the redir hasn't been edited in six years, so it's not "recently created". --Redrose64 (talk) 21:31, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
