Inkollu is a small town in the Bapatla district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It serves as the administrative center of Inkollu Mandal and is part of the Chirala revenue division. The nearest cities include Chirala, Bapatla, Guntur, Ongole, Addanki, and Chilakaliripeta.
The primary language spoken in Inkollu is Telugu. However, some residents speak a blend of Telugu and Urdu.
Etymology
[edit]Inkollu was previously known as "Inkina Kolanu," which is believed to mean "sinking of ponds". However, there is no conclusive literary evidence to support this interpretation.
Geography
[edit]Inkollu is situated in Inkollu Mandal and serves as its sub-district headquarters. According to 2009 statistics, Inkollu is also classified as a Major Gram Panchayat.
Inkollu is located near the southeastern coast of India, approximately 100 kilometers from the state capital, Amaravati.
Nearby villages include Koniki (4.8 kilometers away), Sudivaripalem (8.2 kilometers away), Nagandla (8.5 kilometers away), Idupulapadu (9.1 kilometers away), and Duddukuru.
Nearby cities include Hyderabad (300 kilometres (190 mi)), Chennai (340 kilometres (210 mi)), Nellore (150 kilometres (93 mi)), Tirupathi (280 kilometres (170 mi)), Ongole (40 kilometres (25 mi)), Guntur (60 kilometres (37 mi)), and Vijayawada (100 kilometres (62 mi)).
Inkollu is located approximately 45 kilometers from its district headquarters in Bapatla. Other nearby district headquarters include Ongole, situated 39 kilometers away, and Guntur, 60 kilometers away.

Inkollu Cheruvu (also known as Nagula Cheruvu) is a large pond situated in the northwest quadrant of the town.
Climate
[edit]The city has a tropical climate, with an average temperature of 28.5 °C (83.3 °F). The area experiences hot and humid summers and cool winters due to its proximity to the Bay of Bengal. It receives both the southwest and northeast monsoons. The precipitation rate is high, with an annual rainfall of about 200 mm (7.9 in).

Economy
[edit]Business is one of the main occupations of the people in Inkollu, with many residents also depending on farming. Cultivation is another major occupation in the town. The NSL textile mill employs around 5,000 people, and most residents depend on its business. The town also has several cold storage facilities, two cinema halls, and two hospitals.

[edit]The Pavulur Anjenayaswamy Temple is very famous and is located near the border of the rural village Pavulur, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) from Inkollu. The town also has several other old temples, including:
