Fictional character biography

[edit]

Hyathis is the queen of Alstair, a planet in the Antares solar system. Alstairans are all plant-like humanoids, with some resembling mold, preferring darkness, and possessing the ability to infect others with mold via their bite.

Hyathis is continuously at war with the three other planetary monarchs in Antares: Kanjar Ro of Dhor, Kromm of Mosteel, and Sayyar of Llarr. This conflict is temporarily ended when Ro paralyzes the other leaders with his Gamma Gong.

The Justice League later defeats Ro and imprisons all four rulers on a small planet with a surrounding energy barrier created by Green Lantern.[1] They eventually crack the barrier and Ro escapes, leaving the others behind. Later, Hyathis' followers rescue her and take her to Thanagar, where she cures the devastating Equalizer plague and manipulates the Thanagarians into becoming a warlike culture.[2][3][4]

Hyathis attempts to overthrow the government of Rann by using her telepathy to make the Zaredians battle the Darkstars. Amidst the chaos, Hyathis kidnaps Adam Strange's daughter Aleea Strange before Superboy and the Ravers defeat her.[5]

Hyathis later meets with Zauriel, an agent of the Presence, when the demon Okeontis obtains Doctor Fate's helmet and infects the Alstarians with mold.[6][7]

Calleen, an ancient Alstarian, was one of the first seven Green Lanterns.[8][9]
