Summary

Description
English: Apollo of the Belvedere is a celebrated marble sculpture from Classical Antiquity. It was rediscovered at Anzio in the late 15th century (1489), during the Renaissance. From the mid-18th century, it was considered the greatest ancient sculpture and for centuries epitomized ideals of aesthetic perfection. The white marble sculpture, which is 2.24 m (7.3 feet) high, depicts the Greek god Apollo.
