It currently includes 2 species, the sorocarpic (aggregatively fruiting) amoeba Copromyxa protea and the non-sorocarpic amoeba Copromyxa (=Hartmannella) cantabrigiensis. The named species Copromyxa arborescens, is a synonym of C. protea.[1][2]
