Royal Albert Memorial MuseumAbout the RAMM
The RAMM is a service of Exeter City Council, its major funder and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. Following a major redevelopment project, in 2012 RAMM received the UK’s most significant sector award, the Art Fund Prize for Museum of the Year. RAMM and the GLAM-E Lab work closely together in partnership to establish a culture of open access throughout the museum's collections. CollectionsThrough their collaboration with the GLAM-E Lab, over 450 images of RAMM collection items are available on Wikimedia Commons. These include items by George Townsend, John Joseph Barker, Olive Wharry and many other notable artists. RAMM + Wikimedia UKFrom February 2023 to October 2024 Dr Lucy Hinnie ((EriedgenArc (talk · contribs)) worked with the GLAM-E Lab and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) and as their Wikimedian in Residence and Digital Research Fellow. This work aimed to scale up current open knowledge practice at RAMM. University of Exeter Special CollectionsThe GLAM-E Lab has been working with the University of Exeter Special Collections over the last two years to upload high-quality digital images from their collections. Collections are used in university research and teaching, and ongoing partnership with GLAM-E has opened up items such as Saxton's Atlas to a wider audience. Devon and Exeter InstitutionThe Devon and Exeter Institution is an independent historical library and charity, which has worked with the GLAM-E Lab throughout 2024 to upload images to Wikimedia Commons.
