Should a fake SVG be replaced or remain until fixed (which probably never will happen)?

[edit]

Yeah, my heading pretty much sums it up. I think that a perfect raster logo is better than an imperfect vector logo. However, this does not Debitpixie agree with.Jonteemil (talk) 14:45, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jonteemil, I am actually perfectly willing to fix the 'imperfect' SVG's asap. The thing is I have no idea how, making raster images out of logos with gradients is impossible as per my knowledge, feel free to prove me wrong. If you can let me know how to create good vectors out of images with gradients and hundreds of colours, I'll fix all the Bad SVG's I've uploaded within a week. Debitpixie 💬 14:55, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you can't fix it, then don't upload it. Ask someone who can fix it to do it instead.Jonteemil (talk) 15:00, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Jonteemil If you can't fix it then don't complain about it. Most of the Bad SVG's I'd uploaded were before I was aware of what a Bad SVG even was. I don't do it anymore. I'm asking you to provide a solution, so be constructive instead of hurling thinly veiled insults. Debitpixie 💬 15:11, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that was just a comment of contradiction and illogic.Jonteemil (talk) 15:28, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Jonteemil: You still haven't provided a solution Debitpixie 💬 15:33, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Assuming that the image File:Altbalaji Logo.svg is meant, this is not a vector image - it's a JPEG (a type of raster image) that is pretending to be an SVG. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:18, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Redrose64 yes, I am now aware of that, how do I go about converting the image to an actual vector file? I know how to extract svg's from pdf files but thats about it. Debitpixie 💬 18:39, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You can't. It's like walking into a car park and from their positions alone, working out when and how each car got there. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:37, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Redrose64 Then how do we fix the fake SVG issue? I know extracting from pdf works but this particular logo is technically an icon for an app, I haven't been able to find it in any annual report pdf's Debitpixie 💬 03:48, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you are able to extract a SVG from a PDF then it must be already in the form of an embedded vector image. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:25, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and there is no pdf that has an embedded svg for the logo in question Debitpixie 💬 16:02, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, you don't upload the "so-called" SVG.Jonteemil (talk) 20:31, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have already explained the reasoning behind doing so to you. I will refrain from doing so from now though. Debitpixie 💬 03:40, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Correcting Foundation Year

[edit]

Prolix This is to bring to your notice that the OTT platform was launched in 2017 as mentioned in the first sentence of the Wikipedia page. To support the authenticity of the information, attaching Outlook India's news link that mentions, "Launched in 2017, some of the popular shows... " https://www.outlookindia.com/newsscroll/ekta-kapoor-to-launch-new-action-thriller-franchise-on-alt-balaji/1920861 Thanks in advance and looking forward to your support.Feebee777 (talk) 13:17, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Feebee777, you seem to be right. I found a better source for the launch date. I'll update accordingly. Thanks! Prolix 💬 15:38, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Kids Section

[edit]

Prolix Since I am relatively new to Wikipedia, requesting your help to go about the change. I've noticed that the platform doesn't support the Kids Section anymore and it should be removed from the article. The following link supports my argument: https://indianexpress.com/article/technology/tech-news-technology/alt-balaji-ceo-interview-ott-platforms-adult-content-6423886/ Would appreciate your help for the same. Hi Feebee777, the link backs up your claim. I'll remove the section. Thanks for bringing this up! Prolix 💬 17:56, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
