Scarlet GN, or C.I. Food Red 2, Ponceau SX, FD&C Red No. 4, or C.I. 14700 is a red azo dye used as a food dye. When used as a food additive, it has the E number E125. It usually comes as a disodium salt.

It is permitted in fruit peels and maraschino cherries.

Its CAS number is 4548-53-2 and its SMILES structure is OC2=C(/N=N/C3=C (S(=O)([O-])=O) C=C(C)C=C3C)C=C (S(=O)([O-])=O) C1=CC=CC=C12.
