THE most important distinguishing characteristic of bacteria versus cells of animals and other eukaryotes HAS to appear in the first paragraph that appears as pop-up in other articles linking to bacteria: "..., bacterial cells do not contain a nucleus and rarely harbour membrane-bound organelles. " So, that is why I added it. I am a Biochemical engineer - Cognitive scientist active in the EU LongCovidSyndromeProgram - I think I know what I am talking about.
