Nitrocarboxylic acid

Nitrocarboxylic acids are a subgroup of the organic acids. Nitrobenzoic acid is a example. They are based on normal carboxylic acids with one or more of the hydrogen atoms in the functional group replaced by nitro groups. All nitrocarboxylic acids are explosive because of nitro groups.
