I know because I used to go to the old Providence Auditorium to watch the Reds play there. Ed Giacomin came in to play in Providence for the Reds while recovering from an injury sustained while playing in the NHL! The Providence Auditorium was torn down years ago when the Providence Civic Center was built! Now, it's the Providence Bruins of the AHL who play there. The Providence Reds are now just a me...). Joseph Marcel Rejean Paille (December 8, 1932 – October 7, 2002) was an ice hockey goaltender. Born in Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, he was a goaltender in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers, was a longtime goalie for the Providence Reds of the AHL, played briefly for the Philadelphia Blazers in the World Hockey Association and is the owner of numerous AHL career playoff records.[1]

He died of cancer in Quebec City, Quebec.
