Φιλοκτήτης (Philoktētēs, Latin: Philoctetes) is a tragedy by Sophocles and was first performed in 409 BCE. The play is set at the end of the Trojan War, and describes the attempt by Neoptolemus and Odysseus to bring the disabled Philoctetes, the master archer, with them to Troy.
